We won which is the main thing. Not our best performance, but TAA's goal was great. Konate looked good, but Ox gives nothing and Thiago needs to stop giving the ball away.
Howe just been interviewed and claimed one of the 3 players who got injured was dazed for 4/5 minutes after the game I was saying if he was that bad from the very minimal contact made of harden heading his team mates back Wtaf was he doing on the pitch past HT In fact if it was that bad why the **** did he stay on the pitch at all If the managers going to come out with this **** we just can’t trust them - and I include Klopp in that
Utter bullshit but if it were true, the player should have been taken off so made herself look a twat either way
Have to agree. Head injuries should be independently assessed and I can bet if they were players wouldn't dare fake it for risk of being forced off for 10mins.
Faking a head injury is on par with blatant non-contact diving. Player should be crucified for it, not the ref!
That was quite the clash of heads to make them change sex! Three points is the main thing; just keep getting results.
I've always said there should be a minimum amount of time you stay off the pitch when you roll around on the floor so called injured. If you're that badly injured you stay down for say 3 minutes how can you come back on after 5 seconds off the pitch?
There ****ing wasn't. All bollocks. And Jenas is an absolute massive ****. The bubble-lipped **** hates us.
Not only no contact. He had a look up and realised we still had the ball and then went back down expecting play to stop.
This has become a real problem now due to the increased concern over head injuries. Players go down clutching their heads all the time knowing there's a good chance of getting the game stopped. Think it's been mentioned, but the only way I can see to stop this form of cheating is an enforced minimum period off the pitch. Managers will howl about being penalised, but we have to have a way to prevent this play-acting whilst still giving due concern for genuine injury. We can't rely on players' honesty, because too many these days have been brought up in a culture where conning the ref is seen as a legitimate tactic, and is given tacit approval by their managers, it seems.
The thing is if it’s a proper head injury that can cause real problems (think Jiminez, Cech) they generally go down are unconscious or don’t move. How many serious head injuries do you see where a player is actually holding his head rolling around. It’s generally quite easy to see when someone is in real trouble with a head injury compared to others.
I mostly agree, but there are occasions where people get a bang and are only dazed, and complications arise later. The medics are supposed to look out for this. I just think that if the guy yesterday had turned out to be genuinely hurt then there would have been all hell to pay. We have to take steps to prevent cheating whilst still offering due care where appropriate, and not just leave it to the snap judgement of the ref. A time out will disadvantage the side (which is what the managers will whinge about), but will go some way to preventing this particular form of cheating - though I imagine some will still see it as a worthwhile risk if it prevents a goal.
Oh I agree with the dazed situation. But in those cases, do they require immediate action as in, someone to run on the pitch within 5 seconds of it happening? Dizziness and concussion are serious I’m not suggesting otherwise. But they aren’t potentially life threatening where game should be stopped right that second. If the game isn’t stopped they aren’t likely to die or anything from it. I guess what trying to say is that there is a difference between a head injury (Jiminez, cech scenario) and someone getting an arm in the face for example. Both are when people claim game should be stopped for it’s a head injury, but one is a proper injury to the brain that is serious, the other is just an impact injury that happens to be on the head but is more cosmetic and no more of s threat than someone with a hurt leg or foot
Yeah, I agree. People go down clutching their face when they get a bit of a slap from a flailing arm, and this is very different to a serious concussive injury. I just think that if deciding what is or isn't serious is left to the ref's instant appraisal, then if he gets it wrong and someone is badly hurt as a consequence then there'll be ructions. I'm suggesting a way of discouraging players from feigning serious head injury by forcing them to take a specified minimum time off the pitch. It won't be a perfect solution, but somehow we have to prevent players from disrupting a dangerous attack by pretending to be hurt.
I scored a goal with my head from the halfway line once... I semi meant it too... Ok, it wasn't a full sized field, it was a six a-side field, but it was still a long way, I've never seen a pro head the ball in from that far out... . Ball was kicked really hard in my direction and I leapt at it trying to head it in the direction of goal for someone to knock in... Somehow it actually went in. . Biggest moment of my footballing life... I say semi meant it to go in because I WAS aiming at the goal, I just never thought it would go in.
