Groundhog f****** Day all over again Matches being postponed because of a few players testing positive, yet other games are going ahead in front of 50,000+ crowds. It all seems random and disjointed.
The approach to the whole thing has been like that at every step in this country. Trying to please everyone, pleasing no one and getting nowhere. Too scared to make the right decisions, but happy to skim a little off the top along the way. It's a ****ing joke.
I re signed up me and my daughters as members but had no plans to go to games until we felt safe. Walking and football are a big part of keeping me sane (ish) so I get why people are going cos I desperately miss it but with 80,000 plus cases today and deaths still running at a rate of 800 plus a week I honestly think that football should be stopped for at least a week and crowds stopped until the 3rd round FA Cup weekend at least. I know that the death rate in the population won't rise (or is very very unlikely to rise) to the previous rates of 1000 per day but this strikes me as an act of complacency. 50 000 at Anfield tonight, 40 000 at Chelsea, 50 000 at Arsenal and possibly 60 000 at the lane on Sunday ... 50 000 at West Ham next Wednesday... all OK but people are advised not to go to work, to avoid restaurants and minimise time on public transport... ****ed if it makes sense to me
Sporting integrity out of the window again, another season with an large asterisk next to it, like 20* and 21*.
It hasn’t from the start. They’ve underestimated and tried to tippy toe around this virus and made mistake after mistake
Well we're ****ed now, given Forrest Twunt Steve Baker is whipping up the European Research Group Covid Recovery Group to huff and puff at the thought of protecting money people
Leicester reportedly missing up to ten players and also unable to field a striker, with Vardy injured while Daka and Iheanacho both missing due to the AFCoN outbreak at the club In other words, expect to be demanding we be awarded a 3-0 win for the second time in the space of four days...
How sweet of them.I wonder what they will do if something similar happens in the next round....to many teams!?
There is no justifying not giving Leicester a postponement after they agreed to the Liverpool and Arsenal ones. It will make the rules look even more stupid than they actually are.
If ever there was a time to consider reducing the amount of teams in this league from 20 to 18 - this is it IMO.
