I guess it depends if anyone is displaying bad symptoms? Have to travel separably? Presume they have to isolate somewhere though.
BREAKING: #BrentfordFC boss Thomas Frank wants this weekend's full round of Premier League fixtures postponed to "break the chain" on the current Covid crisis. Thomas Frank says he has been in touch with the Premier League, as well as other managers in the league who he said are in agreement, ahead of his side's trip to Southampton on Saturday.
Government won't pre-empt. If you saw lasts nights covid update you saw Johnson say he wasn't cancelling anything but advised people to decide what was important to them. Then up stepped the 2 medical experts to tell you to strongly consider not to socialise, not to go to football matches, not to go to pubs or meals out etc. Backed it up by facts and figures.
Spot on Chris. Mixed up messaging mainly because Johnson is clinging onto his position by doing what the 100 MPs told him to do. The country deserves better than waiting for football managers to try and follow the advise, and make a reasoned judgement.
Interesting one for me.... saturday would be my first game this season... planning on driving down as thinking safer than the train etc.... but wobbling personally now as i have a long term health condition which affects my immune system...I feel really torn.... but.........................
I don't normally listen to his updates as they are rarely relevant here. It's good to see that he is finally taking the same approach that both the Scottish and Welsh First Ministers have been taking all along though.
I travelled to the Liddypool game by train - I prefer it to driving from Cheshire. Wore FFP3 mask all the way there and back. Hardly anyone else did on the trains. Very difficult to ask people to wear masks unless you are tyson fury. Spent all the time in Watford with a friend. I caught the virus. Has to have been on the train - as my friend didn't catch it. So , DON'T GO BY TRAIN !
Yikes..........was that at the vic? had you been jabbed? Someone else I know thinks they got it from a train....
If this match is on I think some rotation is needed with the 3 matches this week. The question is where?
I’m assuming KF is not fully match fit for 90’, so I’d rather he starts, then comes off when he needs to, rather than serve the end of the game. JN had a mare, but he’s a good lad, and is otherwise good to replace KF. I thought Samir did well, but CC needs a rest. Is FS injured? If not, I’d have him in in a flash. Joao deserves a start. Is Ken Sema fully fit yet? He hasn’t been great this season, but he’s probably been playing when less than fit. Sissoko always good. I like the energy of Cucho very much, but he only ever gets half a game. Is he not fully fit? Kucka is functional though not breathtaking player. Who could cover him? I sometimes wonder with all the ‘clever’ formations these days, how King as a No 10 and Dennis/Joao as No 9, would get on in a 4-4-2? King is strong, can score, but is happy to set up the ‘main man’ and feed off rebounds/ricochets/scraps etc. Until recently, quite often I used to go to the training ground with Matej and Seb’s team, and they still had that Cryochamber or whatever it was called. This was a boon when we first came up six or seven years ago, meaning we and Leicester (the other club who had one at the time) had the best injury record. Now we seem a bunch of crocs. What happened? Is it changes to training? Has the Premiership become more physical? We seem to be struggling, and I don’t understand how that can change so radically.
The Premier League has received a postponement request from Burnley FC relating to their home match against Watford FC, due to be played at 7:30pm on Tuesday January 18. The Premier League Board will meet later today to review the application and inform both clubs and their fans of its decision.
COVID won’t just go away and injuries will always happen so this will last all season and get very silly . There will have to be a stop gap at some point to change the rules .
There is a part of me that would be happy for this game to be postponed, gives the manager a bit more time to prepare for Friday against Norwich If we then beat Norwich and Newcastle lose to Leeds away it will give us some breathing space
