He went over the ball. It would be a foul and yellow anywhere else on the pitch

the key word is slide tackle.

if you go over the ball you can only do it against LFC players.

    (see henderson assault)

Brentford manager calling for all weekend and LC games to be postponed to create a break to allow cleaning and hopefully break the covid infections.

Only matter of time before season is suspended.

Wasn’t even close to a foul. He won the ball and then tapped the guys leg with his foot as the tackle continued.

Over the ball would be pogba on Keita, this wasn’t even close.

@Diego will be most pleased. He always informs us that City wipe the floor with teams, whereas we scrape by.

Even after the thrashing last night, we've still scored 5 goals more and have a game in hand...

As long as their youth teams are in good shape, why can't the games go ahead in the league cup at least?

    chopper biscan eh!

the modern game doesn't allow that unless you are tackling a liverpool player.

It was evidently over the ball, there is no debate. Catching the player or not, getting the ball or not, irrelevant. Someone getting away with it before? Also irrelevant.

I don't think it should be a foul but it is in modern day rules.

Leicester just have an injury problem and Tottenham have players coming back.

Last season we played on with endless injuries and the year before we played our youth team when we had no other choice.

    Yep agreed
You have to wonder what the agenda is
You have franks at a club on the slide calling for a break
No idea how it is possible to take everything seriously with the amount of contradiction and chancers involved in everything
    Does my nut in

Lots of people calling for football to be stopped. Personally I hope that doesn't happen. If there’s an outbreak then sure, postpone the game but why stop games that can go ahead? Anyone think that players will be safer needs their head testing. Anyone think that someone prepared to sit in a full stadium is immediately risk averse when they don’t go to football….the same.

be careful, yes. But play on please

    spurs certainly have 13 players
    Leicester have 13 players

now its almost certain our game on Sunday is off.

there will be ZERO thought to the league cup QF on 22nd December. we will be expected to play it somehow at a major disadvantage to us because of Leicester. they will not be forced to play like we were.

I can see us play tonight and not play until boxing day.

leeds of course have a manager whos NEVER sought to pull a fast one either.

there is absolutely ZERO point in cancelling football.

yes take the crowds away. ****ty for every match going fan but FFS give people something to watch at home if you are on full on plan B.

I personally think this variant messaging form south Africa has permeated badly. "its harmless" "Less severe" this thing could be far worse due to the ease of spread so i'm afraid booster or no we could be just seeing up the next wave and next even worse variant which will escape the vaccines.

I’m not a virologist or a politician so I won’t comment on the actual virus and how the government control the situation. But those with least risk are the fit and healthy who are in controlled work areas and massively tested. Footballers are at more risk from their young or extended families, like most of us when we are locked down. Let them play.
