The first few seasons at the KC were great for crowds. Over 20,000 turned up for the first ever game, the friendly v Sunderland, and it snowballed, but it doesn't last does it ? We saw it many times at Boothferry Park. Huge crowds one week, a month and a couple of defeats later and the crowd could be halved. Nothing to do with price in those days. We had our golden opportunity to build up our fanbase when we finally reached the PL but but we fluffed it. Not only the Allams doing either. Some of the stuff the Duffen regime did too pissed a lot of the old time fans off. Especially on the away ticket allocation because loyalty meant nothing to them and price was everything. . The moving people from their seats and breaking up friends and families plus increasing prices were all huge mistakes, the seat moving and ending of concessions for kids being the biggest mistakes in my mind. Even Sir Adam moved the OAP concession age from 60 to 65. So the club has made mistakes over the years and took supporters for granted. I just hope the new regime values us all more and we repay that faith by filling the ground out every home game, win lose or draw.
12 year old kids who were 7ish when they were priced out returned in the great escape season? Brilliant. And the dead OAPs they’ll also return?
The crowds weren’t diminishing prior to the PL though they were quite consistent. The Allam’s have had the biggest impact on the crowd diminishing. Pricing being the biggest, in my opinion but there were many other contributing factors, as you say.
Him and his mate are like Cheech and Chong, turn up together and end up getting their lines muddled up
I'm no expert but the Club decide what concessions they give? I get what you're saying about pension age but it's 67 now,so if it were bound by law it would now be over 67's?.As an aside,I love in Scotland,no I'm not a kilt wearing 'sweaty sock',I get free bus travel as an over 60 because Heinrich Sturgeon sanctioned it.
I don't know about that but you could say he followed the letter of the ;law when he didn't have too. There would have been ways around it. However, Pearson knew how to fill the ground and I'm sure these new people , or I hope, they are on a similar wavelength as he was. I thought the discount for buying your season ticket up front and before the old season had finished was a good and popular move by AP and I hope that returns. Also being allowed to pay at the stadium on a match day right up to kick off would help. I'm sure these new people are more clued up then any of us on here as to how to make money. The more people in the ground on a match day makes sense all round.
So anyone who slags off Grant McCann has no enthusiasm for Hull City? ****, you've come to the wrong place to make that allegation.
Of course I did, I invited them, but it could also be a reason why they don't come anymore ? Or the company I kept ?
