No you are right. They've been in the lower leagues for that long I had forgotten they were still in the PL. Apologies for that. Still fortunate though with the draw. Cattermole played a blinder.
Great days out for the supporters, yes. Meanwhile the players get on an aeroplane, train and play a game on a Thursday night, board for the return flight Friday, train and prepare for what really matters on ideally Monday night, but more than likely sometime Sunday.
Do you know I’ve worked very closely to at least 5 owners one a very close relative and to be honest none have had any respect for customers - they’ve all adopted a them against us approach - because it’s their own money those pesky nuisance customers want ! They don’t naturally recognise staff differences and use a broad brush for both staff and customers and suppliers - it dose not work for staff or customers . Invariably someone lower down has to face up on their behalf - in the case of City the manager when we have bad results . I’ve managed a lot of people and the owners ego and ambivalence towards people down the chain has been a real pain to deal with . The Allams are no different in running City that way , but they misunderstood the difference between fans and customers . Let’s hope the new guy does !!
Supporters want to see their side in the Cup Final. The Sunderland fans still hurl this at Poyet. Us beating the blunts in the semi final nearly made up for Burnley, nearly.
Agreed fans want cup finals, that is the whole point of football All this PL staying in a division but no chance of a trophy is bollocks. A good promotion push excites fans. It's a odd thing that I want City to do well and get promotion but then I detest the PL and the greed of the select few. and the diving and the VAR and the plastics etc
One of the unseen knock on effects of the Allams actions has also resulted in not only the Disabled concessions being removed, (and despite other concessions returning, this one never has) , is due to them closing down West Upper, wheelchair users who can only used wheelchair spaces, have been sardined into the platforms to what can only be described as dangerously overcrowded areas.
Or string them up by their balls and throw squashed ankles at them That way if the ankles miss they will still be in pain.
This is a total stab in the dark and probably bollocks from me. Private jet charter Learjet 35A Reg D-CQAJ arriving from Germany at Humberside airport in a couple of minutes time. Acun's instagram feed has him in Heidelberg, Germany today so could have hopped on a charter to get over here. This isn't his usual pilot / private jet as seen on previous posting though. So please take this with a huge pinch of salt. please log in to view this image
Yet we were nowhere near a sell out whilst Sunderland sold out their allocation and could have sold more. If the game had been at Sunderland they would have packed the place and we probably wouldn't have sold out our allocation.
True. The rivalry between the Geordies puts bums on seats IMO. If there was only one club up there I don't think their gates would be anything like what they get. Still impressive though supporting their home town club.
