Whom by the way has made himself look a plank. He moaned that Brexit made our roll out and Booster jabs worse than the EU. Then someone posted the correct figures. <laugh> <wah> Another cry baby who cannot accept a result and move on.

Despite our rush to be first and world-beating, we are behind some comparable EU (and other) countries. All while spending far more per dose.

Absolutely. Maybe the people in charge are stupid.

So nothing about being scared about homophobia, so can we strike that off as inflammatory nonsense with absolutely nothing to back it up?

I think there’s a fair chance it was a factor. Probably not as big a factor as the continued under-resourcing of social services.

Of course you can't strike it off until the inquest. There is an institutional fear of offending most minorities, and it's incredibly unworldly to believe otherwise

The social services area has been decimated beyond belief. The more you make cuts in things, the worse that service will become. Unfortunately more cases like this will arise.

You brought it up as one of three factors to note, the others being the persons job and that they are a ‘gypsy’. If you think that any of those are even close to the underfunding of social services you’re too far gone. Why aren’t ethnic background, sexuality, etc.. not mentioned when, like the vast majority of cases it’s British heterosexuals? Strange it’s only ever brought up by British heterosexuals when it’s not British heterosexuals

I'm afraid, Will, that when a member of a minority, or in this case, minorities, is convicted of a heinous crime, the nature of that minority will be raised by the media, be it gay, trans, North African, Christian Scientist etc. It doesn't mean it's relevant to the case. In the case we're talking about, I heard a journalist suggest that there might have been establishment fear of being accused of anti traveller or racist, that allowed this terrible and ultimately fatal abuse to happen. Has something similar ever happened before? Yes. As I have said, look at early establishment inaction at the abuse by Asian ****philes of underage white girls in the northern towns.

    We await the inquest.

Ive looked at a few articles and seen it reported on the news on a number of occasions and her background and her sexuality has never been mentioned as an excuse by social services, however it states on most report’s social services have declined to comment. Other than one report nobody else on here has seen that’s enough for you to make that claim. Yet you don’t seem to mention the funding issue for social services, seems very odd.

I haven't mentioned the funding issue (which is not in any event relevant to nature of the offender) because for me, if 5 people complain in 8 months that an infant is in mortal danger, funding doesn't come into it. Social workers, doctors, police were all involved and appear to have done next to nothing. If so, there's no excuse.

I haven’t got the energy to check the voting records of all the Tory rebels who thought covid passports were a grave imposition on the massive liberties of the English*. So I just checked one, Marcus Fysh, who feels that we are now in a parallel Nazi Germany because the measure was passed by those with jobs in Government and Labour **.

Mr Fysh, so determined to defend our freedoms, has repeatedly voted in favour of extending surveillance of our communications and activities, and for retaining personal communications for extended periods. Now, I’m not sure about the others but the vast majority seem to share certain characteristics in common, let’s say European Research Group type traits, so it’s a fair guess that their libertarian/ social conservatism tendencies will squeeze them into similar odd conflicts.

    * I know a couple, including Steve Baker who put it quite eloquently, have questioned the utility of covid passports based on two jabs when we are told that two jabs aren’t enough. I agree.

** on the basis of * the lack of utility of these passports, Labour could have inflicted a little defeat on Boris on this one, but for some reason, didn’t.

We've had Covid passports up here for a few months now - I certainly don't feel any of my liberties have been stolen from me, having to flash a screenshot at some nameless security dude when entering a venue, who may or may not ask me my date of birth to ascertain it's really me. Face mask guidelines never left, and it really doesn't bother me having to put one on when I'm in a shop or elsewhere out of respect to my fellow shoppers, and any precaution I can take to stop getting this **** and passing it on to my family is a bonus - hence we're all booked in for boosters at the weekend.

Must admit I've been scratching my head at the thing about Covid Passes attitudes in England and infringing personal freedoms etc...... Like Steely's over here we've had to continue wearing masks in indoor settings and transport........ I don't have a problem with that except for glasses steaming up, but now we've got some drops to rub on the lenses that stops that as well...... ain't science wonderful!!!!! Also have to show covid passes to go into a bar or restaurant or gym..... It's no big deal and becomes part of the norm, no doubt we'll get updated passes once the boosters take effect........

I just don't understand why it's such a big deal in England..... I'd be more concerned about the numbers of unvaccinated........

I’d have thought some of the other bills quietly slipping through would be of more concern to be honest in regards to personal freedoms.

‘Celebrity’ Katie Price gets a suspended sentence for drink driving, her eighth offence of this kind.
