Watches, this is actually a long story which I can't be bothered to type out. But the short version follows. When in Kosovo went for a meal with a colleague and a local who we had nick named the king of Kosovo. All through the meal the king kept on pushing up his sleeves, I hadn't noticed but my mate had twigged on. So Mamhut (we didn't call him king to his face) is that a new watch? oh oh this with a fake expression of surprise, yes it's my new Rolex bought it in the States 50,000 dollars. What time is it then says my mate, 10 to 10 the king answers. A bit of a pause for a few mouthfuls of food then my mate casually turns to me and asks if I have a watch, yeh I say I left my usual one at home and had to buy this in the duty free on the way out here, and how much was it may mate asks, I don't know exactly 60 or 70 quid I think. Ah says my mate. After a minute or two my mate asks me what time is it, quarter past 10 I say. Another pause then my mate comes out and says well fancy that Mamhuts watch which cost 50,000 tells the same time as yours, I nearly spat my food out and the king turned to red and looked like his head would explode.
Anyone got any idea of the significance of meeting the consulate is? https://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/acun-ilicali-hull-city-takeover-6349283
Good Publicity, it certainly did that. Fostering Turkish / British relationships. Maybe finalising work permits for Staff! Billy B Paperboy (Sometimes ITK)
