    @Geordieginola

It ties in with the article I posted last night that said Staveley had refused to sign up to it.

It's clear that they're going to have to go legal again and if they lose they're ****ed in terms of their sponsorship plans.

Just the uncertainty will kill their January plans somewhat.

Premier League clubs are fearful of mass postponements and the potential need for another shutdown due to the rapid spread of Omicron and their slow progress in vaccinating players.

Saudi ****ing sponsorship should be the least of its' concerns. There's no precedence. You could argue all of the larger clubs deals are funded by bias.

Seriously I'm fed up with it all now! 18 months to get through the door and shortly after some pleasure and relief you then realise that was just the first defences. It's never going to end mate they're going to make it impossible for nufc to challenge.

They can’t block commercial value deals and that’s one thing we have lacked in 14 years.

We could raise the sponsorship by £200m a year and they can’t touch it with any changes because that they market, set by the big six already. To change that changes it for everyone.

And they can’t block infrastructure investment either so we can grown our academy and everything else.

They can stop over valued sponsorship deals. But there are ways around it.

If we could play Liverpool between Jan 9th and Start of Feb they wont have Salah and Mane, it may keep the score down to the low teens that way. :emoticon-0140-rofl:

There is no chance our players caught Covid in Leicester - Did you see how much social distancing the lads gave the Leicester players during the game? :emoticon-0102-bigsm:emoticon-0102-bigsm:emoticon-0102-bigsm

Fair market means we can't do anywhere near what's required to challenge.

It's designed to sound good but it suite the rich big 6 just like FFP which was anything but fair

Have you seen the sponsorship deals they have? There is no ****ing way the epl can guestimate what fair market value is. It is impossible for them to calculate it. They've said this to shut those moaning ****ers up. Do you judge it on telly audience? do you judge it on stadium size per sq foot? do you judge it on attendance? Do you judge it on 38 million Saudi's? Do you judge it on league position? Do you judge it on performance? Do you judge it on future success? Do you judge it on predictions? Do you judge it on historical TV audience? Do you judge it on owners bank balance? It's impossible.

They'll just base or on whatever was written in the new rules by the other 18 clubs. It'll be a % or something and previous deals will be fine.

Last night Staveley was reported to have refused to agree to this and abstained from the vote.

This report is of course designed to sound like its a positive, but it's not.

We are in the same league as the others. The sponsorship is therefor relative to the league we are in.

That means that the sponsorship levels set by anyone in the PL are undeniably available to us.

If not it is anti competitive.

In additions the KSA market is completely untapped so there is an argument to say that the marketability for us out there is huge.

Legally the PL cannot challenge any deals of a similar size already established because by very definition they would then have to challenge the other deals.

Believe me. This is good news.

That wasn't what that vote was for. It was something unrelated.

    Nope. None of them.

You judge it on what is already there. The current commercial deals which have been stuck and accepted.

That has set the precedent and the bar to which we can without any question or objection market up towards.

Our commercial deals can be anything upwards of £190m to 250m and they can’t do a legal thing about it.

When I say that I mean collectively.

So if Aramco sponsor our stadium for 50m a season they can.

It’s all good news mate trust me.

At commercial deals is another way of saying. It can be whatever you want provided you can commercially back it up.

The PL cannot get involved unless the deal is legally incorrect.

For example a paper transaction. Aramco sponsors us for £50m but no actual cash is transferred so it just props the Income.

The debt sits on the balance sheet and gets written off. That is income doping.

If Aramco pays Over the money there is no way the PL can legally challenge it.

    How can they?

I also guarantee you that this news will just go quietly through with minimum fuss in the media because it’s not what they wanted.

If it had been something which would have affected us negatively. It would have been splashed all over the place on sky sports news ticker.

I'm going to disagree with you im afraid because the amount is based on the club not the league we are in.

This is merely another level of FFP that ensures newcastle or any other club outside the big players can try to bully the bullies.

    Previous deals are fine
