Forty-two Premier League players and staff tested positive for Covid-19 in the past week - the most recorded in the league over a seven-day period. It is the highest number since 40 cases were reported in January. That week, 2,295 tests were carried out, while 3,805 tests were done in the latest round from 6-12 December. Brighton, Tottenham, Leicester, Manchester United, Aston Villa and Norwich have all confirmed cases, with United's game at Brentford in doubt. Sunday's Brighton v Tottenham fixture was postponed following a Covid-19 outbreak at Spurs. Previously, the most positive tests returned in a week this season was 16 from 16-22 August, when there were 3,060 tests. The latest report of 42 results is an increase of 30 on the 12 positives reported from 3,154 tests from 29 November - 5 December.
We’ve been told today at work by our boss (message from the CEO) to send all kids home with their tablets at the end of this week in the case schools don’t reopen when the term starts again in January.
Fool me Once. Fool me Twice, Fool me Thrice and Fool me a Forth time....these conspiracys keep coming true

My wife has just had to fly back to the UK from Australia as her mum is seriously ill and in the ICU at Hull Royal. The hoops she had to jump through before even being allowed to book a flight were ridiculous. Not to mention the coast of the actual flight. She's double vaxed so why isn't that enough? We really are not doing a good job of living with this virus. If we run petrified and shutdown/restrict/lockdown every time there's a new varient then what's to say we won't still be doing the same thing in a decade? Enough is enough now.
