SA and UK are difficult to compare. South African population average age is far lower than the UK - best part of 40% are under 25. UK has the most obese population in Europe, which is a contributory factor to all sorts of other survivability issues, Covid included.

I doubt I could start an argument in an empty room, Rodge. I just find the psyche of “ordinary” right wingers kind of fascinating. Admittedly if enough nonsense cliches about Labour are thrown at me at at the same time I’m

My father was a para god rest his soul, my grandad and loads of relatives served in both wars and quite a few of them from the pit villages fell in battle who's names are on local monuments, it instils me with pride, i know you don't get it most lefties wont, lefties were famous for conscientious objectors, and being shot for cowardice. but if there is ever another war, you will serve your country or be stood against a wall and die that way, either way there would be no escape unless you emigrated.Which i expect you would be off like a shot, even leaving your benefits behind

 

I’d probably move to Dubai in the unlikely event a war requiring civilians to fight in trenches occurred this century. I doubt I’d be needed given the number of baby boomer war festishists who’d be signing up anyway.
