Its like soft decisions and play acting are being allowed to creep back in after seemingly being stamped down on earlier in the season. Ive noticed a massive increase in esrly time wasting too, loads have started wasting time at throw ins and goal kicks against us from around the 20minute mark, obviously it wont be tye ssme for every team but its starting to really piss me off, even Stevie fc was at it from the 10th minute, refs need to clamp down on that **** too as you do that well and long enough you can waste a good 10/15mins of a game. ****s
Odd you should say that because at the stage of the game i was watching Newcastle were just starting to get control, Leicester were given a throw that wasn't theirs and the thrower decided it was a good time to re-tie both his laces to slow the game down.
Yeh ive noticed it in other games we aint been involved in too. Its deffo a tactic the teams expecting to get a hiding are employing more. But for me doing that **** from the 10th minute is bad sportsmanship, not like park de bus which is frustrating but honest, this is snide like diving imo
Nope ... Maddison bought it no question... knew he was going to beat the defender to it and that the momentum would take him into the outstretched leg ... there was contact and Lascalles doesn't get anything on the ball ... technically a pen ... morally is a different matter ... ... but they brought that upon themselves by poor passing out of their own area that allowed Tielemans to take it off Shelvey and create the one on one for Maddison ....
The game stinks because of that lack of morality, not just Maddison, there were a few others this weekend too, and plenty before.
It's not a game mate. It's a business. Morals go out of the window when money is at stake especially big money.
Well after @FosseFilberto finally gave me the good hiding I've been demanding it's on to Sucky Sucky we're going to get something on Thursday and I'm going to bet you a month's avy
I've never looked at any penalty stats, compared to past decades, but there just seems way too many penalties being given in games these days. I first started to notice it in International football competitions, when Kane always seemed to up his scoring tally from penalties for England. Look at this clip from the 1970 World Cup games, when Gerd Muller was the Golden Boot winner, he scored a tally of 10 goals, and from this clip, only one was from a penalty... No one has beaten his tally since 1970, although the highest number ever scored was 13 by Just Fontain in 1958.
I've actually found a clip on Just Fontain's record number of world cup goals (13), not a single penalty!...
Part of the training seems to be playing for free kicks and penalties, some are too good at it, not to practice it. Look at the 5 penalties given to the so called big 4 over the weekend, only one was clear cut imo, ironically the man utd one
Yes it's exactly what we needed too... Hopefully we can start learning how to do it because we're useless and everything including winning pens.
When we had Danny Kedwell at our gaff, he was one of our top scorers, mainly always from penalties, that led sometimes to people questioning his ability as a striker. I've actually seen 3 penalties all taken in one game, we were losing 0-2 at home to Scunthorpe, when in the space of 9 minutes, we got three penalties, all taken by John Wright, winning us the game 3-2. https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...hree-penalties-in-nine-minutes-for-gillingham
