    Back to being **** then.
Australia are so much better than England in every aspect, it's embarrassing.

Josh Hazlewood has been ruled out of the 2nd test with a rib injury, no replacement has yet been named. Some good news for England at last !

Should be Richardson or Neser to replace Josh, probably Jhye Richardson of more concern is Warner.

Don’t hesitate to call me ole mate.
I use to open the bowling and was third drop on the bat. I’ll cover both positions and I can reduce my asking rate to match my current skill level!

Not bothered about Warner if Broad is playing, he has his number, but Hazlewood is different gravy. In the top 5 bowlers in the world in my book, the English batsmen will be holding a party inside 10 Downing Street this morning !

I don't think it really matters who is missing from the Aussie line up.
England's top order is just about the weakest in living memory, whilst Buttler rarely perfoms in tests and Stokes looks completely shot of form and confidence.

Whether our battling in **** or not of course it makes a difference when one of the best bowlers in the world is missing from the opponents line up. Look at the difference it made to morale when Mcgrath rolled his ankle playing football in the famous series where we turned them over ! Our batsmen will be feeling alot happier trust me, Hazlewood is top notch

    Ok.
My point is that it was the **** batting that was the main reason we lost by 9 wickets.
There were contributing factors, but our batting simply has to improve.
I actually think Cummins is their best bowler and they have a top class spinner.

All of that is correct but if we'd played Broad and bowled first would their batters have done any better on the first day ? Our batting has been **** for years now apart from Root and occasionally Stokes. It doesn't seem to matter who we pick they're just not up to it. Cummins is the number 1 bowler in the world, but Hazlewiod isn't far behind. Its the havoc they create in unison that is deadly, Hazlewood is almost impossible to score off and the pressure he exerts on batsmen helps Cummins take wickets. Whoever they bring in won't be in the same class !

    Johnny Douglas 1911-12
    Len Hutton 1954-55
    Joe Root 2021-22

The only English captains to win an Ashes series of 5 or more games in Australia after a losing start.

I have been drinking heavily recently. Lighter fluid, meths, that kind of beverage.

Unless you are Didley you might want to give the lighter fluid a miss
Can't have him not being able to light his own farts

See England have left out Wood for this test even tough he’s fit & was probably one of the better bowlers in last test, it’s crazy not playing your best team, ok Anderson is back & looks like it’s Broad or Leach

I suppose those three quick bowlers will be rotated. Wood's fitness is fragile and Anderson and Broad are just plain old. Hopefully Robinson will be a fixture, though, and there's always Stokes if he can stop overstepping.

They can't possibly pick Leach again, surely? If we need spin at some point, Root can turn his arm over - plus Malan can bowl a few leggies.

I wouldn't pick Leach if the pitch was like corrugated iron.
I used to spin the ball more than him.
    Root definitely does.
Maybe Wood as well as Anderson and Broad is one too many?
Not sure anything will make much difference with our batting.

Adelaide used to be a batsman’s paradise. Watch on in awe as we destroy that particular legend……..

I really liked Adelaide when I was there half a lifetime ago, a sleepy, civilised provincial town, and the Oval was an easy stroll through a park from the centre. In those days there was a lot of grass banking to lounge around on between visits to the bar, which I assume has been replaced by big stands now.
