We haven't we've been marginally better, hit of course we haven't had a single opportunity to recruit players. Bruce was definitely being treated unfairly the fans kept moving the goalposts and now they've done it again saying its just a championship squad. I don't understand what is so difficult or why people missed the new owners saying repeatedly that it's going to take years not weeks
You keep saying Bruce has been treated unfairly, I can't for the life of me understand where you get this from? Was he given a fair chance from day one? Probably not. Who's fault was this? Steve Bruce's for being a dick as Sunderland manager. Did he improve the players, as in doing his job? No. Did he match what Rafa did? Yes - but with several players who were far better than what Rafa had available to him. Wilson, ASM, Joelinton. Was it time for him to go? **** yes. Do I feel bad for him and his multi-million pound payoff? Hell No.
Come on mate he was treated like crap.. Even when we were winning (/our best start ever) the fans pulled out irrelevant stats and moaned it was boring football. When we were the 10th best side over the last 18 games ( half a season) they refused to just say well done we came 12th. If we lost they'd shout 'see he's crap' I don't know why fans can't just admit it. This isn't trolling either it's exactly what went onb
I agree he was treated like crap. I also believe he should never have had the job in the first place. On this season's performances alone it was time to go however. I thought we did look good at times at the end of last season - however nobody expected the Willock streak to continue the way it went. I will however admit that this was not Bruce's fault and he was refused the necessary funds. Despite all this he was still out of his depth and I'm glad he's gone. He lacked imagination and tactical knowhow in the modern game.
Yes this season it was time to go, but it would appear now we all know that it was the players not Bruce.
Pointless whining cause it sounds like sour grapes with a 4-0 scoreline, but it had a large impact. As you say the way we crumbled was disappointing regardless.
Yeah they're just better than us in all areas much like the arsenal game, but our problem is that we can't seem to get any points from the better teams like we were good at under rafa and Bruce.. We need to do that over the next month
You're a knob Roy ... Vardy is third highest scorer in the Prem this season (or was) whilst Daka is still getting to grips with the pace and physicality of the Prem ... I've already named the 3 defenders missing that would be first choice if fit and with Jonny Evans going off we had to put a defensive midfielder at centre-back... because the other 3 possibilities Vestergaard, Benkovic and Amartey are all I'll/ injured too ... but no injury concerns, no sirreee ...
Your kidding me EDDIE Howe said “brushing ourselves down in his post match presser” I ****ing kid you not!
I did say this when people were hanging on Bruce's every word trying to slam him for them. They are ALL the same, they all have these phrases. Its avoidance of getting into it too much with the journos. Even the foreign managers come in and pick them up man. Press conferences mean little. Its performance, style and results. We are falling short in every category and need to buck up.
Like I've just explained you can't claim you've got a major injury crisis wheh you've got a top goalscorer on the bench along with soumoure who cost a good chunk of money. That starting 11 was strong its really not rocket science. The inured players bar one or two are ****e and I wish they'd played instead put it that way
They sure should ... Maddison should not have been allowed to play with 3 arms ... particularly not with a poorly photoshopped third one
Fair play. For the record no offence. It’s frustrating for us because a lot and I mean a lot of decisions are going against us like that and have been all season. Can’t complain about the other three goals mind. When you have Maddison and Tielemans in midfield compared to Shelvey and Willock. You can see where our problems lie.
None taken ... plus I completely understand ... we've been very frustrating recently conceding silly goals from defensive errors (and set pieces in particular) and then having to chase games... which leaves you vulnerable... second half yesterday showed our qualities - some great passing and movement and a selection of how good we can be as an attacking force ... You need an influx of committed, energetic players desperate so play for the shirt.. not sure splashing big bucks on galacticos is your best option... Fulham tried that a few years back ...100 million and still went down...
