Wonder how many more games of “Eddie Howes black and white army” they’ve got in them?

No idea mate but he needs to have a tactic and formation in mind and a backup tactic and formation in mind before he skull ****s us in the transfer window.

I agree that 3 in the centre is the way to play in this day, my concern is what we have to play there at the minute and how we set about with the 3 up top. This just isn't working but I don't know if this is Howe just trying to get the best from the players he has available or what?

In theory we could go 3 centre backs as a flat line across the box, 2 wing backs with Hayden as the DM more advanced, with 2 cm - take your pick because they are all ****. 3 up top but I don't believe ASM and any choice of RF can produce either enough assists or goals.

Other option is going 4-5-1 but I just think our lot will wallop balls over the top of the midfield, Wilson would be outgunned and it would just constantly be pinging back at us till we concede then collapse like a deck of cards.

Other option would be 4-3-3 playing narrow, but again we don't have the forwards to score or the crossing abilities from the wing backs to pull this off.

Hence my argument the squad has been poorly assembled leaving the manager limited options but to go 4-4-2 which isn't working or 4-2-3-1. For some unknown reason though we chuck ASM in as the number 10 rather than the left winger, Miggy is the natural number 10, but that then leaves us with Joelinton on the right or Murphy or Fraser.

Whatever way he decides to go he needs to have them working on it now, and this is going to result in us getting twatted over the next few games as they begin to adjust. Lets be blunt with what we have available we can hardly go tiki taka or gegen press. We struggle to even pass and move. Can you imagine ASM in a Tiki Taka tactic man?

I reckon a NUFC manager could win the champions league and people would still want him out for a 1-0 FA Cup loss to Darlington three years prior.

    This. 100% this.

People reckon that the sale and sacking Bruce would instantly transform us in to one of the best 4 sides in the country.

It took Bruce a year to destroy Rafa's defence so I believe it'll take Howe some time to undo Bruce's defence.

Really your best tactic would be to play ASM on the left wing and just let him stay up there in the big gap that TAA leaves when he’s pushed on.

Then when you win the ball try ping balls over the top into the gap behind TAA that Matip will be covering (although Konate might be playing this one).

We’ve been off last couple of weeks. Dominated and created tone of chances v wolves and Villa but only got last minute winner v wolves and only managed a pen v villa. So hoping was just a small blip but we’ve not been as deadly in front of goal as previously.

    -----------------Wilson---------------
    -----------Joelinton------------------
    ASM---Hayden---Shelvey-----Almiron
    Lewis---Schar---Lascelles----Manquillo
    ------------------Dubravka-------------------

I'd consider dropping Willock and bringing him on as a sub late on and see if that makes a difference.

He offers us nothing when we're defending, but may be useful coming on late as a sub.

In a 4-4-2 you have a solidified role. In the 5-3-2 we played last year and in a 4-3-3, you have more room to move around in.

Its pathetic really when there is this much money in the game that you have these things continually thrown up, its like they want to court controversy!

Furthermore there is nothing Howe can do either. No matter what 11 he picks, no matter what formation he tries, no matter what pretty pictures he puts on his presentation, no matter how many triangles he draws on a white board nufc will get beat in this game.

Then the nufc fans will say he should've done something else

Yep, we will lose, regardless. We're dreadful. But I am interested to see if 1) he's ever going to twig that two in CM doesn't work, and 2) if there's any sense of fight or passion in these players that was completely absent 2nd half vs Leicester.

Liverpool defeat is expected - not doing basics and not fighting for it is unacceptable.

There is just a chasm between the two sides in quality that no manager can overcome tactically. We are going to get tanned. They are ridiculous at the moment. Salah is unplayable.

We've got to take our beatings.. Then when we get up they'll soon realise what they're dealing with.

Can you imagine if the takeover didn't happen?

Embrace the beating absorb them in the knowledge that we're morphing into a juggernaut

Eddie to go with a solid looking 4-3-3 Shelvey, Hayden and Hendrick in the centre, ASM on the left, Joelinton on the right, Gayle up front. Lewis, Fernandez, Schar, Manquillo, Dubz in goal. Hendrick and Shelvey to run into each other and bump heads in the first minute and a change of formation to a 4-4-2 to accommodate the oncoming Almiron in central midfield for the injured Hayden.

After getting a proper humping - Pulp fiction style - Roly never mentions 3 in midfield ever again
