If I were American and we were across the pond I would seriously be considering how to interpret my 2nd Amendment rights...

A familiar scene when you upset farmers out here. This however is not France, but Swindon. They realise now that they have been shafted. A bit of advise to them? Go slower!

It is difficult to not make a comparison between a President who addresses the nation with twenty five minutes of detail on the problems facing the country, and the Prime Minister who believes that he has to do something to restore the battering he has received over the past few days in a few minutes.
Nicola Sturgeon set out the problems on Friday that Johnson simply repeated tonight. You would have to be a hermit to not realise that the mutated virus could put the country, especially the NHS into a complete meltdown. Talk of training people to give vaccinations seems a touch late when he wants to get everyone in receipt of one by the end of this month.
One of my daughters has a father-in-law who refuses to have any vaccinations despite all of the family trying their best to get him to change his mind. Maybe he needs to be told to stay indoors until he changes his mind. Other countries have tried to encourage people, but now realise that it is not enough and are imposing stricter measures.
There is a real problem in schools for pupils and staff, but nothing for them. Yes it is good to have children mixing with their friends and learning, but not if it makes them ill and a small proportion finish up in hospital, or even dying.

'The collapse of trust can be traced to the fatal flaws in Boris Johnson’s personality. The latest crisis in No 10 is no fleeting embarrassment; but a game-changer that has stripped the PM of any remaining credibility.'

An interesting thread on what to expect from 1/1/22.
I'm off to the supermarket to stock up on toilet rolls and hand soap...

Advice on the BBC this morning: do lateral flow tests at least twice a week, more if you're going out.

Shaun Bailey is chair of the London Assembly's police and crime committee. Well he was as he is now standing down following this getting out. I wonder if this has anything to do with the Met. being so reluctant to investigate.
