Not fit for purpose: ‘our’ NHS

Friday morning I had toothache. That had gone by lunchtime. Friday night I went to brush my teeth and looking in the mirror I had a swollen cheek – an abscess. Been here before: go to dentist, get prescription for amoxicillin to get rid of the abscess, go back to dentist a week later.

Saturday morning I phoned my dentist. Their automated answering system said they are not open weekends, call NHS 111. So I called NHS 111 and went through the half a dozen plague questions “press 1 or press 2” and it then asked me to say the nearest large town or city. It did not seem to recognise ‘Hull’ but perhaps it is programmed for the local aitch droppers and I should have said ‘Ull’. When it diverted me to the national waiting system it said the queue was at least ten minutes, so I hung up. I then went on their website. When I had to answer whether I was male or female there was a long note stating that they wanted the gender you were born, not your chosen gender identity. After navigating the system, I got to the dentistry section and I booked a call back.

On Sunday, 23 hours later, I got a call from the NHS in Leeds. It was quite clear that the lady at the other end was working off a script from the simplistic nature of the questions but ultimately it got down to wait until Monday morning and call your dentist as I am sure they can see you in an emergency. Strangely, I walk past the NHS Emergency Dental Surgery in Hull every day of the week and the place was completely shut on Saturday.

So I may as well not have bothered with ‘our’ NHS. It is actually a Woke Covid Clinic, Monday to Friday. Another failure of Socialism where the State can provide everything...

 

Sounds like we need a Tory government to sort this out.

 

If you are on hold and the recorded message states that you may need to wait 10 minutes, perhaps just put the speakerphone on and wait.

all our bombing was aimed at infrastructure and military targets

Not as much as of dunce as you carrot crunchers that marry their sisters and refuse to accept that the NHS is a total disaster that they continue to fund.

I should quit work – no more National Insurance payments – and sign up with BUPA.I can sue them for not being available at weekends as I would have a contract. The NHS is dog sh*t – and my mother used to be a nurse in it!
