I don't think we were the better side. I thought it was a tight competitive game.

FWIW Kante ripped us to shreds twice last year even with Phillips in the side. I'm a bit pissed off with some decisions. I'm not saying they were wrong on the day (two pens and I thought there was a possible red for Reece James with both feet off the floor). I just get frustrated as we've had those decisions go against us regularly the last 18 months. Struijk red against Liverpool, pen at Newcastle not given, red card for Barnes at Burnley not given, Poveda pen not given last season at your spot).

We're struggling and as usual you just don't tend to get the decisions down that end of the table.

Ah well, away at City on Tuesday!

Depleted squad? Did you see our bench full of kids. We have 18 first teamers and you have two teams far better than us. Let's face it we let you win as you were shyte. Do not expect to win anything this season playing like that.

good points emu. I guess I just don’t like those clipped floated balls, Dallas is in space when it’s hit but getting charged down as he looks to control it and he’s largely blind to the trouble. Ultimately his only real option was to hoof it or lay it back,, in which case meslier might as well hoof it or play it short. Whichever on reflection the pass wasn’t terrible and blame more with Dallas.

re positioning, yeh he took the steps in the wrong direction to look to come for the cross to the unmarked guy. And you’re right that gave him a choice. I still think he took the wrong one, he needs to do his job first not worry as much about other people doing there’s.

He has previous on this sort of thing. As you say though, split second decisions. I’m not getting at the lad, he’s done great for us, for one so young.

4 of the twitter abusers were named on waccoe this morning, one as gone private and the other has closed his account completely.
Hope he realises that it was a small minority and the abusers are getting dogs now themselves

Burnley only 5 points behind now with a game in hand, plus they play Watford at home on Wednesday.

The game on 2nd Jan is going to be huge.

Our next 4 home games against Arsenal, Villa, Burnley and Newcastle have certainly caught my eye that's for sure.

Gut feeling is that at some point we'll fall into the bottom 3 and if that does happen then how we react both as a club and fanbase will prove crucial.

Conor Gallagher making Klich look like a pub player.

Upgrades urgently needed in midfield if we're to stay up.

For me our rivals have a tough few games, arguably Burnleh have it the easiest, I'm the opposite, I don't think we'll be bottom 3 come the Burnleh game because of this

The same fans who were kicking off with Klich on line were the same twats who ridiculed Bielsa for even thinking about Gallagher. In their eyes Connor Gallagher was useless, but as we now know he will be a Chelsea starter next season, and today was yet again MoM

If we fall intto the bottom 3 it will be after either the Burnley, Newcastle or Man U home games.

Home form is key and so far it's been pretty good but the vital matches are coming up soon.

Burnley and Newcastle are must wins Scum and Arsenal are beatable, Gerrard is making Villa hard to beat, 9 points from those and we're good...now all we have to do is get them

Daft as it sounds as we need wins, but not losing to Burnley & Newcastle is probably more important if you get my drift.

We've shown enough to prove we can beat anybody on our day and most of the clubs down at the bottom don't have that capability <ok>

The bottom teams also have some tough games too before they play us i do accept however that Villa and Norwich are now tougher teams and so too are Newcastle(if you forget todays result, but they beat Burnley last week) plenty of teams from those on 19 points down to 10 points will drop a lot of points between now and end of January.

I suspect many twists and turns in the next month or two. Southampton, Everton, Watford, Burnley, Newcastle, Norwich, Palace, Villa and Leeds are all in this battle.

We already know Villa, Newcastle, Norwich, Palace, Southampton and Everton are spending in January

Both were 50/50 pens. I'd have been annoyed if either were given against us. I think yours was clear cut, idiotic from Alonso.

Nowhere did I say your squad wasn't depleted, it's a fact ours was too.

Where we poor? Yes. But do expect us to play great football in mid-December with key players out off the back of a trip to Russia? Absolutely not. Yesterday for us was just about getting over the line against a very well coached team and avoiding a 3rd consecutive home game in which we failed to win.
