Wow just wow at some of the comments on here literally having a go at the team they support which was promoted last season, who sit top of the league, have only lost 2 games all season, have scored the most goals, have won the most games, have played some fantastic football, have beat some of the promotion favourites and yet we have one bad game in 13 and all of a sudden we're crap! 3 tough tough games in a week anyone? physically demanding? great effort put in? 5 points taken from 3 tough games? lets's just look at the bigger picture from time to time for crying out loud! i took yesterday as a positive,it's shown us in a different light, when things aint going well we can still dig out a result, loads of resilience and loads of character,in my eyes we've got a great team to be proud of so can we just lay off them for a bit? COYR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've posted this on another thread so no your not going mad haha.
The thread of when oh when irritated the hell out of me.I've also read things all over the net that quite frankly are embarrasing considering what this team has achieved.
I thought it was funny on the match thread how for 80 mins everyone thinks we're dreadful then De Ridder scores and everyone thinks we're awesome again.
I couldn't agree more. It was obvious we were a little jaded after Tuesday and I can't blame them for that. We still defended well and got a point. I couldn't be more happier but due to our good start, some fans' expectations are far too high now.
My shrink says its good that I mingle with people, even if they arn't real. Makes me less likely to start fires.
I said on the other thread that we are getting embarressing. I will say though if we don't beat Milddlesborough 26 nil, then Adkins should go.
Thankfully, whatever we say, for and against, about anything, it matters very little indeed, if not at all. In the scheme of things, we are just onlookers. The Club itself does all the things that matter, and they won't change just for a few people who can't see the wood for the trees.
We are going to get hard games as other teams make a game plan to beat us. This is a compliment that teams can no longer think: if we play our best we'll easily beat Southampton. We are fitter than most teams and when they tire of a game plan they're unfamiliar with..hey presto. Of course, I also hope we have a few games where people can't live with us!
Not much of a discussion if all we ever say is: "Ain't saints great". I would expect this site to contain many different points of view to mine on a variety of Saints related matters and I would not dream of denying anyone the right to say what they think. What I do disapprove of however is people suggesting that people should not express their opinion. Well let us just remind ourselves that free speech is one of our greatest benefits and remember that old saying " I may disagree with what you have to say but I will defend to the death your right to say it". Now rather than tell me what I said should not have been said tell me why I was wrong. If you join a forum be prepared to find views different to your own and if you wish to contribute then challenge them with a counter argument. So I repeat my comment albeit in different words: Yesterday we were crap and some perormances by our players were not good enough. Tell me with regards to yesterday's match why that statement is incorrect. It is my opinion that we have a superb home record but our poor away form could cost us dear.
Nobody's saying you can't have debate, StG, bujt you were very emotive, yesterday, with your thread opener. I think it would have been better if you had slept on your thoughts, to see how you felt today about the game. I'm sure you would have structured your thoughts better. Personally, I'm disappointed, although taking eveything into account, I think we gained a point, when we could given away three to a rival. That's a positive.
Our away form aint bad though,we've only won 2 but we've also only lost 2,basically it's straight down the middle,it's average but it's not poor.I agree that we all have different opinions and you have every right to say we were poor but there is a way of putting that opinion across without sounding OTT,i've read many posts that said we were poor but they were done in a less critical way, which i think the players deserve, just cut them a little slack.
two defeats from 7 away from home is being unbeaten in 70% of away games ... that'll win us promotion over the season
Our away form is not too bad, considering some of the teams we have played. Our next 4 away games are Coventry, Bristol City, Doncaster and Skates, these are definitely the poorer teams in this league and I would expect us to pick up a high points tally from these fixtures. So I would suggest see how we do in these games and then judge our away form.
