WAC - people always talk about us. We are always news, certainly for the last 50+ years I've been following the club. It's some people's obsession with us that causes many of the problem. We've had so much stick from idiot West Ham and Portsmouth fans over Redknapp, that the subject is practically beyond rational discussion on a cross board thread. Unlike Newcastle, London hosts many clubs, and the rivalry between us and at least three of them is intense and often bitter.

I can guarantee you now that if I went down to the pub and Blackburn took the lead, there'd be quite a few cheers. Not because there'd be any Rovers fans in the pub, but because there'd be Arsenal/Chelsea/West Ham/whoever wanting to take a dig at us. London is also the media capital as you know, and again this leads to intense scrutiny for us, especially as many journalists are West Ham/Arsenal/Chelsea with the resultant bias and nastiness that follows from that.

Next time you see a story about Bassong, VDV, or whoever, 'moaning/whinging/ready to leave' please remember the bias and lies that are rampant in the London media.

It is one of my main "things." I think the poor bloke just jumped into the water when there were a lot of sharks about. Unlucky really.

Why has this post been so villified? The one thing we don't need to get defensive about is our financial situation. Water off a ducks back and all that.

Still, it doesn't pay to get blase about these things. We didn't get rid of half the dead wood we needed to in the summer. Bentley is still taking our coin (in principle) as is JJ, and we have a shedload of "professionals" who never kick a ball in anger. And a stadium to build. And increasing pressure on Levy to give pay rises to key players. But we'll cope.

I'm not sure any of us feel strongly enough about the meaning of words and phrases to start slagging them off to a bunch of spurs fans.

Well lads (Spurs & Toon) - I rather enjoyed our Sunday morning interaction <ok>

Think we cleared it all up in the end!

:) WAC - yep, I hope no hard feelings will remain over this one, it really is a touchy subject for many Spurs fans.

I'll let you into a little secret, lots of Spurs fans didn't like Harry when he joined, and many are still poised to put the verbal boot in, at any given moment. Even someone like me who had no prior bias against Harry has sometimes got a bit aggrieved at Harry's 'openess' regarding our club and players. But that's a little Spurs secret, so don't let the others know about it ;-)

Fact is, for all his his faults Harry's been a very good/great manager for us. Should he leave for England though, I'll wish him well, with full confidence that Spurs will continue to prosper under new management.

Well you got a ton of posts and views! No hard feelings, as has been said the subject is a sensitive one here, (like Shearer's hair "island" at the front of his bonce.) Come back again fella, it is a good board really.

Yeah, I think Harry probably sees England as a good way to round off his career - and he'll do a better job than Capello and get the players playing for the shirt. And I've now got a better insight into the inner-workings of Spurs <ok> Didn't realise there were some doubts from some around Redknapp when he joined.

Now time for Man U v Man C, think they'll dish up a few fireworks...

At the age of 26 I'm unwillingly copying Shearer's hair island <laugh>

You lot obviously care about your club - can't argue against that.

You realise you put anti-semantic, right? Do you know what semantics are? Or am i to presume you meant anti-semitic?

Apologies for my ignorance, it's just hard to understand what you're saying when you speak such drivel.

No it isn't, as he has clearly said. Well done for pointing that out though.

To clarify. The club now has a rigid £60k/week wage cap. Colo is on more because his existing contract is still running. But he will have to take a pay cut to get a new one. Going forward there is a determination to keep wages affordable.

Just for Colo, but he is negotiating a contract which will apparently be on a reduced wage. Can imagine he will be on £60k a week
