They've looked better organised and harder to beat than us (in games I've seen anyway which obviously isn't all) which is pretty impressive given the turnover over the Summer and that the manager only been there a few months. Not sure why that'd be strange.
Getting very close to the point where we have nothing to lose. Ralph can’t do much more than he’s doing now. We’re not going to see a significant improvement in results. He’s had three years and this is very much his squad. He’s out of ideas, and getting tactically outclassed almost every game. If we have a second half of season similar to last season’s, we don’t just get relegated, we finish bottom.
Not sure of your point? Presumably you're implying that I've slagged us off while praising them and I'm pretty sure I've not really done the former. Plus even if I was I would argue that the situations aren't comparable in the slightest.
I do think it’s a mystery. KWP is much better in his rightful position and from what I’ve seen of Perraud he’s no slouch. Livramento needs a couple of weeks off and if Stuart Armstrong is still out should surely be started in front of KWP.
Relegation only occurs at the end of the season or when there is too much ground to make up in the games left before the end of the season. That fact keeps me going, not necessarily in a happy mood, far from it, but currently neither of the conditions mentioned have been met. Let's keep that in mind over these next few weeks. Ok the omens suggest what could happen, agreed, but we've seen it before and it will happen again, the form book gets turned over for better or worse. I think we can realistically think about PL next season, even now.
No no, not doing that. Just pointing out that perceptions are interesting. I think most people believe Palace are having a good season, whilst we’re the worst team in living memory. But we’re on the same points. Just thinking that it’s a curious thing.
I agree that on the face of it it seems odd but football is full of all those odd little contradictions. Not much different to how despite having an excellent transfer window and a brilliant manager we have a squad no where near good enough Taking the Palace example then I think what seems more impressive there is the turnaround in style of play in such a short space of time. I also tipped them to go down tbf so it seems even better whereas we are roughly where I expect us to be. As with most things the context is everything.
I thought you had this sorted out and spent the afternoon at the pub? I've yet to hear from my nearest mate who went to the match, probably feels the same as you!!
So let’s run with this then. Sack him before the start of the January window? Fine, except that (a) we don’t know who would replace him, and (b) we don’t have any money to spend in the January window. Rolling the dice is only a good idea if there’s a decent chance of not picking up another Pellegrino or Hughes.
RH is acting like a manager under pressure. Last week he outed McCarthy, this week it’s Bednarek. He picks these 2 week on week. Most can see that Tino has needed a rest over the past few weeks. He could easily put KWP back to right back (where he was one of our best players last year) and then put Perraud at left back. I don’t get how people can’t even entertain the thought of Rolling The Dice, and sacking him. He looks and sounds a beaten man to me.
Do you honestly think the Saints board, would pay the wages these 2 would ask for? Maybe Ralph hasn't been sacked, because they can't afford to pay him, as well as whoever takes over? My view is as the saying goes " We don't have a pot to pi** in" The club is in big trouble, until we get an ownership who is willing to invest, the money needed . Just look at how a club like Brighton spend the money required.
