I'm devastated that the text I have typed on an internet page have shown me up, I'll have to learn to live with the funny looks and comments as I walk down the street.

We actually get lots of people on here that make comments about our club without knowing the full facts, but at least we have the ability to take it on the chin and shrug it off rather than throw a hissy fit.

If this is how you react to everything I'm surprised it took until 2011 for there to be rioting on the streets of London.

"Terry I want to buy player X."
"How much is he up for?"
    "One and a half million."
    "No problem, keep me informed..."

Yep that's control of finances alright. <doh>

    Actually more like:
"Terry, Leeds are interested in Ferdinand"
    "How much are they offering?"
"Well they are willing to pay £18 million, put the will be a vast amount of agent fees involved, and so the club won't see all of it"
    "No problem, keep me informed..."

As far as I can see that was the OP intentions. It was your lot that were being hostile for no reason. As for having friends, this is an internet forum, I'm never going to meet any of you so why would that bother me? I come on here to discuss football, not make friends or argue with people such as yourself for no reason.

And they told you that their uncle allowed a manager to control the finances of the club that he was supposed to be running?
I'm sure he'll love them for that!

Redknapp was in charge when the so-called Golden Generation came through at West Ham.
Rio Ferdinand, Frank Lampard, Michael Carrick, Jermain Defoe, Joe Cole and various others were all sold on for large profits.

Brown screwed the club, regardless of what his own family may have told you.

And whose fault would you say that was?
Whose role was it to check that sort of thing?

Jesus Christ. What the hell is wrong with you lot? The OP was making a point there was no malice in it. It's a child's response to attack when you've assumed you're being attacked, and that's exactly what you've done. 'Yeah, well your club stinks of ****', is effectively what you're saying.

    Grow up and chill out.

Well why don't you do that then? We have described ad infinitum why the OP was lambasted. Here's an idea: Don't post on our board and it won't be a problem.

At risk of being repetitive. I'll type this slowly so hopefully you will understand it. Football managers run football teams. Chairmen run football clubs. If a football manager asks for money for players he has no idea what the clubs balance sheet looks like. If the chairman gives him money to buy players and skints the club doing so, it is the chairmans fault. Chairman look after the money. Managers look after the football. Please tell me you understand.

If you really want to believe that a chairman gives a manager control of club finances, I don't know what to say to you.

Yes, you posted a reason why and frankly it was a poor excuse. We get posts like this a lot from other boards, usually asking the same question, yet we post the response without getting aggressive towards the OP, it's called manners, which you seem to lack. I know a few Spurs fans that are alright, but it's fans like you, it would seem, that give the rest a piss poor reputation.

The knee-jerk reaction to some of the Newcastle fans' comments on here by certain Spurs fans is born out of two things:

    - the fact that we've been dealing with unnecessary, unsubstantiated bullshit on this topic from fans of West Ham, Portsmouth, and our closest rivals for years on here and the old 606

    - the fact that you made points based on facts that you had not chosen to research despite the figures clearly being available, as other posters have pointed out

Understand that the anger is not really directed at you (as there's no reason you would be aware of this state of events) but feelings are just bubbling over on what is an issue that we've had to deal with a lot in the past. I have nothing against the OP wishing to discuss the issue, but I always find it a good approach to tread carefully when posting on multiboard threads or on another club's board, as you never know how some posters will react at first.

On topic, I don't think Redknapp will be leaving us a bad financial legacy. Levy is usually very careful about releasing funds for transfers (apparently Redknapp had to practically beg for the £5.5mill for Parker for example) so you would think there is little chance of Redknapp spending us into trouble. Over the summer we moved on some players who had been on good wages for reasonable amounts of money (Hutton, Keane, Crouch etc.) and loaned out a few others to trim the wage bill (Bentley, Jenas etc.) and as Ensil, amongst others, has pointed out our wage bill is a low percentage of our turnover especially when compared to our nearest rivals. So to answer your question: no, Redknapp will not be crippling Spurs or even coming close to doing so.

Thanks for a decent response <ok>

As was said earlier, it seemed like a good idea to ask as your fans would have a far better understandings to the inner workings of your club rather than looking at unreliable and variable internet sources.

I also forgot all those players left that you mentioned. They probably had a combined wage of well over £200k per week so that'd free up funds for the Adebayor and possibly Tevez deal if it ever happens.

No it's called experience which at 18 you cannot be expected to have. Research or stick to your own where the sympathy and understanding will hold you up. If you play with the big boys you will always get hurt. <ok>
