    Neither do I,
I just think everyone is entitled to question whoever and whatever without being ridiculed.

This is true. But I also feel that if people are deliberately spreading misinformation they should be pulled up on it. Which is what I thought the poster that I originally replied to was doing through implication.

Yes, but the problem is people with genuine questions or reservations get idiots like you lumping them with flat earthers ;) :D

BBC jumping on the bandwagon with a huge headline stating cases are "highest since Jan 9th"

Whilst ignoring the falling hospitalisation and death rate

What ****ing agenda do these people have?

The more cases, the more chance of mutation.

We dont know enough about this new mutation so common sense says try and restrict it spreading while it's evaluated.

Is it really that difficult to understand

Perhaps not mate but people have had so much info thrown at them they're punch drunk with it all ...

... or perhaps they just don't want to believe it's all happening again.

I find it amazing that we are consistently being told there is "no data" on omicron to back up claims that it has milder symptoms than delta yet they seem to have found enough data to say only 3 jabs will work against it

They could ask South Africa who’s data is a few weeks ahead of ours. Or, is that just too obvious for them ?

Wow , I think we’ve become accustomed to different papers/ media reporting conflicting info acquired from the opinions of individuals - but this really beggars belief and shows they don’t care what they give us so long as they get a “selling” story to fill the pages

I haven't read the Guardian article (I can't bring myself to read this ****e anymore) but I guarantee the story will talk about "if the variant evades vaccines" and "if it's more transmissible" and "if the symptoms aren't mild" etc etc to give the worst possible case scenario and treat that as fact

    It's exhausting

We need the data on this so-called variant before we can start to makes plans or panic

The early data from South Africa states that whilst it spreads more rapidly the symptoms are mild. It could actually be a very good thing if this does end up being the dominant variant

I can’t remember who , but someone said that if mild , it could be the best thing for us for it to rapidly go through us and build the natural immunity.
Also Putin ( assuming he’s quoting some clever Russki scientists ) said a mild one would be a “ live vaccine” - Could it be looking for a mutation in which it can help us survive it , whilst allowing it to cohabit with and in us?

South Africa has a very different demography to the UK (younger population and much lower population density for a start) so its quite possible that the new variant will have different impacts here to those its having there.
