Thank you for your concern PTA, but we have one of the strongest balance sheets in the league. Unlike City and Chelsea we run a sound, solvent business. Yes, there is always a risk, but when people highlight us because of Redknapp, they generally are clueless about our finances and the way our club is run. Therefore, don't be surprised if people get irritated, because we're sick of the ill-informed crap (I'm not talking about your good self) that we have to put up with, when if they checked our company accounts they would see how silly their comments are, and would presumably desist.

If I started a cross board thread asking if the Geordies are deluded and whether Pardew will have them relegated by May, I would expect a hostile reaction.

 

In reality, you won't have to put up with people highlighting you because of Redknapp as he'll take the England job after Capello goes so you can all chill out a bit.

I have a question for you, Why would a Newcastle fan know the ins and outs of your club?

What you forget when posting comments like this is, no one really cares about your club enough to look at all their news, financial situations, transfer links etc every day.

Common sense seems to have eluded you hasn't it.

I'll type this slowly so hopefully you will understand it. Football managers run football teams. Chairmen run football clubs. If a football manager asks for money for players he has no idea what the clubs balance sheet looks like. If the chairman gives him money to buy players and skints the club doing so, it is the chairmans fault. Chairman look after the money. Managers look after the football. Please tell me you understand.

 

They aren't relevant because as stated by yourself our % wages/turnover went from around 90% in the Championship to your estimate of 65% in the Premiership, and as I can't see us being in the Championship again in the near future there's no point in bringing up our accounts from that season.

 

From past experience Chirpy I think we may be battering our heads against brick walls.

Curiosity, it would seem, made the OP post this, with Redknapp's previous clubs being in the situations they were.

You say that, but why would any sensible fan on here do that, when we have fans such as yourself who seem to already know all of this? Surely asking a fan of the club would give you a better insight than any paper/online article ever could?

So was posting pictures of our fans crying after relegation, or did you not pick up on that point?

 

Common sense would be to be in possession of the facts before you post on another board. If you don't make sure you are, (because obviously they know more about their club than you) you just end up looking like a plum. That obviously doesn't bother you or your mates, but we really don't like it down here.

 

Well I know for a fact that he was in control of finances at West ham, and saw an awful lot of the transfers in money. I admit I'm not so knowledgeable on the way finances were dealt with at Portsmouth, Southampton and Bournemouth, but just assumed as it fits the trend.
I didn't come on this board to cause offense, and the only poster who has replied to me with even a little bit of calm is Ghoddle10. The anger shown by most of you is ridiculous. I can understand that you might get fed up with WUMs, but this was not a wind up attempt!!

Last reported figures of ours were for the 09/10 season, so of course for us there was no 40 million tv money in that turnover so nothing for us to worry about really, we're now one of the most financially sound clubs in the Prem and continue to progress as a team. Great strategy.
