Good Morning. It's Friday 10th December, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road

Bielsa plays down January transfer activity

During his press conference yesterday, Marcelo Bielsa played down plans to strengthen his threadbare squad during the January Sales. The Argentine has never been a fan of the Winter transfer window, and made it clear that they would only be interested in players that would improve their squad, and even then, it would only be a possibility!

According to Phil Hay :"Bielsa asked if this changes plans for the January window. Says if the club can find players who are better than his then "it's possibility that's welcome but we all know the difficulty of the winter market." Says it's difficult to find players who are "competing" and available".

Bielsa's words angered many Leeds fans, who took to social media to express their dismay, labelling the Argentine as stubborn!

Players are tired and have switched off mentally

Former player, now pundit Tim Sherwood believes that Marcelo Bielsa has taken Leeds as far as he can, and says there's a million to one chance he'll still be at Elland Road next season. Speaking on the Kelly & Wrighty show, the former Spurs legend went on to say that Leeds have been found out and the players have switched off mentally!

“I think he might have taken them as far as he could. I think his ideas have gone sour. I never see him smile. Leeds seem to have got found out. “The players are tired and have switched off mentally. When you stop winning, you stop listening to the manager. A million in one shot that he stays next season. For the life of me, I can’t see him being there next year.”

    Five missing for Chelsea trip

Rodrigo, Robin Koch, Patrick Bamford, Kalvin Phillips and Captain Liam Cooper will all be missing for the trip to Stamford Bridge tomorrow. Koch has finally overcome his groin strain, but has be suffering from illness for the last ten days whilst Rodrigo has picked up a heel injury that will keep him sidelined for the next few games!

Surely Bielsa will bring Charlie Cresswell (or Struijk if fit) into the mix, allowing Ayling to operate in his favoured position at right wing back, and move Dallas into midfield. With Rodrigo and Bamford both sidelined, surely Joe Gelhardt will be given a rare opportunity up front, though in all likelihood Roberts will probably get the nod!

Good morning and it's not frosty what a bonus. The spine of our team is now missing. We need to pack the midfield and play one up top. What we do not need is to carry on playing bielsaball. These top sides will thrash us if we do.

I'd agree but can't see him changing.

Really hope it's not Ayling at CB

I think it will be and dallas right back. That leaves us with firpo at left back and that is a disaster waiting to happen.

I'm sure we have enough forum members who would be able to just stand on the goal line and totally block the goal (that way Shaks, you could just hide your beer behind the post ;) ). Given that I would only be able to provide some height and not much width (being tall and reasonably slim), I may only make the bench ;)

Wow, you mean you intend to have us attack, as I don't see us being able to undertake any fast counter attacking moves, I would imagine they are going to be more of a dawdle.

I was hoping that Meslier could just throw the ball to my head and I could head it straight back to him for 90 minutes. I'm sure it would be thrilling to watch ;)

What if I wore a GoPro, then you would have the birds eye view of the ball coming towards my head, and hopefully the ball thereafter moving back towards Meslier.
It would be like you are actually on the field of play ;)

Of course if I was wearing a GoPro, then there is even more of a chance that my header back could go anywhere, hence you would be able to experience the abject horror of seeing the ball head towards our own goal. It would be pure total realism :)

    Afternoon all…

In regards to the comment “Bielsa has taken Leeds as far as he can”. Yes he has with this group of players, nobody else would get more out of them, they’re simply not good enough.

I'd say a lot of those having a go at Bielsa, be it from fb or twatter are the same who stay away from ER when the going was tough. Just an opinion, I've no facts to back it up.<ok>

It wouldn't surprise me. There were less fans in uproar when we were getting beat by Swindon at home in League One, than there are because we only got a draw in the Premier League.

As much as I want the club to be successful, I do also miss the days when I could get a ticket for the match, the day before the game :)

It's probably broken and will be in the repair shop for 3 months, until Bielsa deems it fit for purpose :)
