I agree, I think it may look from the outside though that because of the number of 'big name' players you have, people automatically assume your wage bill must be massive, which it isn't really. The only player of yours who isn't on a sensible wage is Adebayor and you're only paying around half (or whatever) of his wages!

  2. Only a question, eh?

Okay, here's a question for you...

When are you going to get relegated, next season or the season after that?

Hey! I'm not wumming, merely asking a question.

You'd get pretty bored with this sort of crap if Redknapp was your manager, too.
It's ridiculously uninformed and we've heard it all before, mainly from bitter West Ham and Portsmouth fans.

Redknapp doesn't have any control over our finances and he's not in charge of our transfers, either.

"Show absolutely no mercy"? Bloody hell, calm down; it's a discussion on an online football forum, not World War ****ing III.

  7. Whereas, I am sure that you and your fellow fans would be slapping us on the back and inviting us out for a pint if we came onto your board and perpetrated the same old myths and ignorant viewpoints that were being spouted about you last season, eh?

Thought you'd be able to interpret that this wasn't a WUM attempt, merely posing a question but some Spurs fans seem a bit touchy to say the least. Obviously I don't know the ins and outs of THFC finances, to an outsider it seemed like a risk, nothing else.

These cross board threads don't seem to work too well, instead of getting some decent banter going they seem to cause more agro than we could expect at the games.

Okay, fair enough. That does sound a little bit precious, doesn't it!

On reflection, I probably went in a little bit too hard that time.

I'm not sure why this was posted as a cross-board thread, rather than just straight to the Spurs board, to be honest, but I find posting an article on another club normally requires a little diplomacy.
People tend to assume the worst, which I think is a fallout from old 606.

On the contrary, if the original poster knows what they are talking about, they can be brilliant.

I see ManC managed a £58m "commercial" activities (compared to our -Spurs- £8m). Wonder how that happened? Even with that they managed to spend 108% of turnover on wages!!! I wonder if the "fair play" rules are really going to address these abuses?

Well the first three Toon posters hardly promoted cross-board harmony did they?

Luckily, I didn't have to waste time destroying the ill-informed opening post as Ensil did it superbly <ok>

The idea that Redknapp, who has been a brilliant manager for us, will destroy us, is soooooooooo stupid, I'm amazed anyone still comes up with it, but yes somebody out there is still that foolish <laugh>

For the people on the Toon board that clearly know nothing about our club, LEVY RUNS THE CLUB'S FINANCES NOT REDKNAPP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We are about to post record income figures, not just beating but absolutely smashing our previous record, by some 30/40%. Our income will be up to something like £150/160m, and guess who was the manager that led us to those fantastic figures, yep it was Redknapp. So please oppo fans stop spouting crap about Redknapp, we've had it for years, particularly from jealous, bitter West Ham fans. They've been wrong from day one, and they're still wrong a thousand days later, or however long Harry has been manager.

As commented earlier, the financees link showed revenue was down from £101m the year previous when we were in the pl, assume this is the approx revenue for this year (and last). Whilst signing new players, we have got rid of a lot of expensive dead wood and sold Mandy Carroll for £35m. So our finances our pretty decent at the mo (something MA has actually done well) the players we have brought in, whilst high quality have been well scouted and therefore cheap

Inspection of thfc seem better than an outsider would have thought (me included) however as commented earlier, this was in CL.

What is your wage situation in comparison to 2009? (honest question)

It is not difficult to find information on the net, BEFORE you post an article on a rival clubs board is it. If you wish to look like a complete prawn then we on the Spurs board will always be happy to help. <ok>

I didn't realise that this was a cross board at first, and I only said that he was a risk, which to be fair, is true. He has ruined every other club. I'm not saying that Levy doesn't have a plan to prevent this, and that its definitely going to happen, just that with his history, it appears to an outsider, that Spurs could be at risk.

The figures that Ensil posted are from the year before last.
    They run til June 2010.
That's before the Champions League campaign and they don't include our second sponsorship, either.

    Current wage bill?
No idea, honestly, but I doubt it's gone up much, as we shifted a fair number of high earners.
I'd guess it was about £70m.
