Have you noticed how Hull City is being ignored by the media?
With a catchment area of more than 700000 you would think they would give city more reporting space or time against some leser clubs.

Been discussed a lot recently. I felt we got better coverage last night on the FLS last night but i'm a bit tired of the Southampton game always been the featured game. There's an elite group of 4/5 teams in the league that receive the majority of the coverage, I don't think we're the only ones who feel like we're ignored. Southampton drew 1-1 with Reading, whereas we were involved in a 3-2 game, as were TWS and Peterborough, Cradiff beat Barnsley 5-3 and of course Milwall beat Leicester 3-0. Just because a team is near the top doesn't mean they should be the featured game, i wish the FLS would understand this and give everyone a fair amount of coverage over the season. Before Percy jumps in, no i don't expect the football league to become 'the hull city show', i just expect us to receive some decent coverage now and again and i think plenty of teams in this league feel the same way.

    Been debated loads matey.

Suffice to say City always get over looked which could be a good thing. Depends how you look bat it.

We never really get the recognition we deserve.

I don't live in the area (haven't for 16 years) but, judging by the comments of fans on here, both BBC Radio Humberside and The Daily Mail - local media both - are guilty of this. Neither have any excuse.

Nationally, BBC Radio is pretty lacking in coverage/mention. I don't have a TV, so can't comment on the various channels/companies.

The late, execrable 'NotW' used to be fairly good, in fact, but most other papers seem to leave a lot to be desired.

Hey - but we are partisan, after all!

    Oh for ****s sake.

For the record, I thought we got more than enough time on the Football League show yesterday. They talked about us before the game, then afterwards. It was more coverage than we usually get.

For the record, the featured game is decided before they're all played, and Hull City vs. Watford doesn't really stand out, does it?

I got a bollocking by some poster on here, recently, for saying we were 'under the radar'. As you say, TTH, it depends on how you look at it.

The one thing I think is inexcusable with that is that the game selected before they were all played was once again, the game that had been live on Sky at 5.30.

To give a semblance of balance, the featured game should not be the Sky game - whoever is selected.

It doesn't matter. We've had quite a few decent comments on the FL show so far.

If we were always last on and they never discussed us I wouldn't be bothered.

Who cares? If you want to watch the game and can't get to matches watch Tiger Player.

I think there's a technical reason for that.

Personally, I'd rather there wasn't a featured game at all. Though I would say if you want decent highlights of City, use the BBC's website.

The coverage last night was better, i think people's main gripe is that it is always the same handful teams who get to be the featured game, and in such a competative league where any side can beat another favouring the same sides can often leave other sometimes more exciting games with less coverage than they deserve. I don't see how Southampton V Reading warranted been the featured game other than Southampton been top, and featuring the top 3/4 sides doesn't always garuantee the most entertaining games. There was a 5-3, 2 matches ending 3-2, a 3-1 and a shock 3-0 win at one of the promotion favourites, all in my opinion more entertaining than a 1-1 draw. It would work a lot better and fairly if the featured game was decided after the matches were played, that way there would be no pre-judging exciting matches and it wouldn't end up been like last night where a 1-1 draw is featured before more exciting games. MOTD have being criticised before for featuring on more high profile games before more exciting games involving teams not at the top of the league, and i think the same can be said of FLS.

Not really bothered about national coverage. If we don't get mentioned maybe other clubs won't see us as a threat.. The HDM is ****e for city coverage, would love the green sports mail to come back only I doubt if it will ever happen.

**** me! Man U losing to Man City; man on 5 Live just said Chelsea could come 'under the radar' to steal 2nd slot.

Chelsea? Under the radar? Do you see what they did there? Everyone watching the top 2 and Chelski sneaking up.

.....and we're worrying about media coverage! And people are querying the term 'under the radar'!

oh come on the media loves to focus on "big" clubs like Leeds & Wet Sham, Southampton echos back to the Kevin Keegan and Matt Le Tissier days.. Boro are not that fashionable, we are not, even Derby who have won the Division One and have Clough Jnr are not really featured more than us. Leicester attract attention because of their money & Sven but are probably not a glamour club in the eyes of the TV bosses..

Fook em - hopefully we'll cement our place in the top six like we did in 2008 and then they'll all start praising us.

    Not bothered either way TBH.

"If we don't get mentioned maybe other clubs won't see us as a threat.. "

Are you really daft enough to believe that? <doh>

But I suppose it don't take the brains of a chinese archbishop to work out that the HDM is****e coverage - Nick Woods simply epitomises the fact! :emoticon-0105-wink:

I couldn't care less about City's coverage, as long as they're on enough for a review of the game. We get 90 mins at the stadium. I'm aching for FLS to be a decent show though - enough coverage of all the games to make it entertaining - would have love to see a bit more of Cardiff vs. Barnsley yesterday. I'm just a bit sick of it all being a love in over the darlings of the month.

And as for picking the game the day before, that's just stupid - not when you see the quality of the footage that comes out of every stadium. If they get a minute of quality footage of all the goals - that means there is a camera getting all 90. All they have to do is post-edit a commentary onto 10 minutes of it. It's not like that's not what they do anyway... they didn't do the Blackpool-Forest or the Reading-Soton games before they were played - did they? Just take the most interesting game and do that one!

Call me an arm chair fan if you like, but for those of us who live away from Hull and only get a handful of opportunities to make it to the KC each season, the media coverage and websites like this are where we get our fix from. We demand an unbiased opinion from sites like the BBC and its TV coverage. To find we are not being served equally as other teams is very annoying and when the facts are skewed against us at times, this makes my blood boil. <grr>
