Naaah. Nothing wrong with a driver expressing frustration, so long as they're not going full James Hunt. I miss the days where steering wheels would get a good launch. Now they have to put them back on, they're reluctant to sling them too far.
My dad told me off when I kicked my kart, even though I paid for it all, but I was so ****ing annoyed and frustrated I couldn't help it.
I'd prolly go full John Cleese if my car packed in. This is why I could never play golf... I'd be wrapping clubs around trees on a regular basis.
I learned it all off him He was in a squash tournament, got himself a new flash racket and was playing his mate, who he always beat, in the semi. He lost and smashed the racket to pieces and threw it in the bin. his mate fished it out, had it mounted with an etched plaque 'The Loser' and gave it to him for christmas. Fair pay to my dad though, he did hang it on the wall.
My Bro said he has never met anyone as competitive as me but if I wasn't happy with the outcome I would blame myself and beat myself up, mentally, by analysing what I did wrong etc. Applied in the workplace too.
Anybody follow WTF1 on Facebook? I really should have stopped following that thing when it stopped being funny years ago... But occasionally I go and have a look, and even more occasionally comment, but the level of stupidity in their posters is beyond hilarious. Think this is a fair representation of the fan base these days, or have all the sane fans just left them to it there? It's proper whack.
I bailed on facebook about 10 years ago, never bothered with twitter, instagram etc. Any discussion will sink to the level of the stupidest person on either side of the former debate.
Just trying to figure the engine scenarios. verstappen took his engine 4 in sochi and got 2nd from 20th (blows croft's fan boy rubbish out of water saying lewis was greatest ever race yesterday from 10th) So this has run turkey, austin, mexico and brazil. (2nds and 2 1sts) hamilton took his penalty at turkey less than a month ago and got 5th from 11th This engine then ran turkey, austin and mexico before being changed out. (3 races but probably could have done more) The questions remain: a) how much of a fall off can be expected in engine performance and reliability for Hamilton from the next 3 races? I can't say as the fact engine 4 was pulled early means we cannot tell for sure AND we can't tell from mexico where altitude was always expected to favour red bull. b) Hamilton has not taken any other components at all where as bottas and vertappen did, is this important? In hindsight he could have taken the lot and won in brazil. Clearly unless the rules change sprint weekends should be carte blanche for big teams to take on extra components as they can half the penalty easily and come back to the podium to minimise impact. c) verstappen's set up will run 4 races without penalty and horner claims the drop off is negligible. Do we believe it? d) do red bull submit a protest on engine performance on grounds that development has occured?
True. Ever since the Gov allowed self certification something tragic was always going to happen!!! All done in the name of saving money!!!
