Joel Matip has played more games in 2021/2022 than he played in the whole of 2020/21. His contract can be extended by another year<laugh>.

Definitely nothing to do with their players acting like they had been shot, off the pitch, then rolling back onto the pitch. Or when Jiminez booted the ball out, came back to him and then headed it straight back!

The irony is, we scored a goal in stoppage time which was as a direct result of their time wasting :)

Wonder what’s happening with Gomez. Hasn’t been injured has he but seems to have fallen to 4th choice atm. Before his injury was in some brilliant form and since he came back he’s not been quite the same.

Hoping he’s just being eased in gently after last years injury as unlike vvd who has just slotted in like he’s never been away, can take time to get back to full fitness and levels following huge injury.

With vvd and Matip both around 30, hope Gomez doesn’t get pissed and want to move especially before next winters WC where their is a definite opening in the CB area.

Gomez have to be contented like Origi if he wants to stay at Liverpool. If starts to complain he can piss Jurgen Klopp off.

Apparently he did pick up a knock a little while ago, and it went under the radar.

Not sure what the injury was exactly but not surprising given his horrible last injury. Thankfully there is no need to rush him back.

He was right about there being only one scouser on the pitch but it wasn't Coady because he's not a scouser, he's a woolyback.

Gomez isnt tall enough, he also is quite dangerous in he backs off when close to box but smashes into players giving cheap frees away.

On the ball he is very good but the lad needs to find his role again.

He had a bad injury and he finds himself another player away from competing for the slot beside vvd. He has to compete or whinge. It's his choice cos in 1 or 2 years matip is done.

Exactly, and grew up in Haydock! People I know from St Helens don't class themselves as and don't like being called scousers. I know someone born and bred on the Isle of Man who has a heavy scouse accent. He isn't a scouser either.

Tbf, they're probably not chuffed about being called woolybacks either. :)

True <laugh> but they're not equal terms. Scousers are called by others and call themselves scousers, similarly Geordies etc.

It's what they call themselves. They really don't like to be called scousers.
