That's the thing, opposing fans seem to think we all still think we're the best about. When the reality is we're not stupid and we know we have a long way to go to get anywhere near that standard. The promising thing is we now have good owners and a great infrastructure at the club, so hopefully after a few years of hard work we can make some positive strides in the right direction. I grew up with Norwich always in the top flight, like QPR so for me on a personal level it's great to have you back
Haven't really participated in this thread, but I must say its nice to see the Norwich fans accept the draw gracefully. Just the other day we had a bunch of Rangers fans gloating and being abusive of the result of a friendly. I'm definitely disappointed with the result and think we should have won by by a couple of goals with those chances. But then it's our own fault for not taking them. A good result like this has been coming for Norwich. They were unlucky not to get anything against United or Chelsea, which were arguably more even matches. Good luck for the rest of the season Canaries. I'll be keeping an eye on you after seeing what a great bunch of fans you've got.
Just to concurr with what suarezlfc said. You've got a tidy side there and deserved what luck there was going today after Chelsea and United. We've got to go away and find an answer to why we create more chances per game than any other side yet fail to put them away - but that's our problem. This has been a really good thread - thank you
Only just caught my breath after that! The first 20 minutes was by far the most outclassed we've been this season- LFC looked a class act during that period. I thought we looked OK after Holt came on but I can't believe we came away with a point. Good luck to Liverpool this season- with a bit of clinical finishing you could be a real force this season.
just back from the pub and my, with more clinical finishing I would say we'd have been at the end of a hammering. However - Ruddy was phenomenal - what a couple of world class saves he made. It was a game and a half and I really enjoyed the fact that this game showed we have arrived. Great banter with a few (dissapointed) LFC fans over here and this thread has been by far the best I\ve seen betwixt fans from very different parts of our footballing world. Respect. OTBC & nice one Liverpool mob.
Ruddy made some phenomenal saves! He also looked like David James after a few pints of Strongbow with some of the crosses. The great saves make him a hero imo!
I have to say, I'm a little disappointed at King Kenny's comments this morning! I understand that he's hurting that his team only converted one of a myriad of chances, but even the most loyal supporter has to agree that he does go down easier than a muff-diver! http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/15419170.stm
What a div, his diving was so good he should been in their Olympic diving team he'd get gold everytime. Credit to the ref he saw thru every single piece of acting
You have to ask the question - why was he not booked for persistent play acting/diving? I can only make the assumption the referee was not 100% certain on every occasion.
I don't think he was diving at all. I thought he had a good battle with the defenders. He is a strong player and defenders know this and get physical to compensate for the fact that he is both very skillful and very strong, I think he deserved a few more fouls against him yesterday but it is hard to call when a defender and striker are both pushing against each other. His reaction on the pitch will always get people talking and wind up rival fans, but I really didn't see him going down easy yesterday and would go as far as to say that there was no need for him to go down as he was having success turning defenders. All my opinion of course.
A lot of them I would say were 50/50 but he a strong, quick and tricky player but he also whines more than the whole of the Arsenal team from the 80's & 90's. I was surprised he didn't get booked for dissent. I think had he bagged a couple of goals his whole attitude may have been very different and most of his whinging was through frustration.
I agree Luv - Yesterday for me he wasn't guilty of diving or play acting. In other games yes he has done on a few occasions. But yesterday all I saw was a good battle between a physical striker and physical defenders. Suarez will always attract attention, he's just that type of player. He has immense skill and has that badboy side to him, similar to many previous great players. I'll agree that if he wasn't a Liverpool player I wouldn't be keen on him, but any team would want him for his ability. So it's fair to say I'm extremely pleased he plays for Liverpool. Negative attention - bring it on, it's part and parcel of his game.
