VIN number is Vehicle Identification Number mate, not really heard it used in place of PIN.

 

I was pointing out that for both VIN and PIN people frequently add a redundant "Number" after the abbreviation, despite Number being part of both PIN and VIN already, being the 'N'. I was not saying VIN and PIN are the same thing.

Just as above someone said "TBF fair" adding a redundant "Fair".
