I think that the two losses to the Manchester sides at the start of the season are a little deceptive, as we were missing a number of key players and hadn't signed Parker or Adebayor.
We performed well against Man Utd til they got their first goal and we unlucky not to be leading, but the collapse following that goal was appalling.

The real test for Newcastle won't be a single game.
It's about how the squad holds up over the course of the season, when injuries and suspensions kick in and the games start to become more frequent.

Pardew's done a very good job there, so far.

newcastle deserve to gloat, as do Spurs. They have been the better teams so for in the PL.

When did we ever want Pardew out?!?! The only reason we were unhappy with his appointment was due to the way our previous manager was let go!

And yes, although Ashley has the scapegoat that is our decent start to the season, most of us would love to see the fat **** die!

I haven't met one Newcastle fan that ever wanted Pardew out. Most of us were underwhelmed by his appointment at first, but the last thing any of us wanted was him sacked.

Ideally, yes, we want Ashley out.

But let me make it clear, I have never met a fan who wanted Pardew sacked.

Because it's about how, according to most pundits, Newcastle haven't been "tested" yet there's no mention of Liverpool not being tested yet they still find themselves 4 points behind us, currently! Have Liverpool been tested?

Also, what makes the pundits think that Spurs have been tested. Just because they were hammered by both the Manchester clubs doesn't they are more worthy of their potential 19 points!

NUFC are being critisized for winning games where we are expected to challenge for the victory. So why not gives us the credit for getting good draws against Arsenal, Spurs and Villa and good wins against our rivals Sunderland and others that we got beat against last season!

Who's criticising you for winning games?
    Don't be ridiculous.

I imagine he just means that rather than getting praise for a great start we've instantly become targets of skepticism. On one hand it's complimentary that pundits/reporters are taking our start seriously by instantly ignoring all of their previous guesses that we'd be relegation fodder and dismissing our wins as 'easy fixtures', but on the other hand it'd be nice to get a bit of credit for it.

It's not so much criticism as it is a flagrant disregard for any effort our team have put in this season. Most pundits can't bring themselves to give Newcastle even the tiniest bit of credit, regardless of who we've played or what the score was. If we beat United and City, they'll probably talk about their tough European schedules and how lucky we were to play them at that time. If we lose, they were right all along and we will have come crashing back down to Earth.

We honestly can't win with them. But if it makes the lads play better, they can talk as much **** as they want. What annoys me is the fact that they contradict themselves on a daily basis. Much like when we were in the Championship. At first they said we'd struggle with our squad since everyone good had left, but once we'd easily won it, it was obvious we'd win with the squad we had! It makes no sense to me!

Your big test is coming soon, I believe. You have Man Utd, City, and Chelsea in successive games. If you come through that with anything, the rest of us might start to believe.

Most of us are expecting to get probably 1 point out of those 3 fixtures to be honest, Man Utd and City are insanely good this season. The way you say 'rest of us might believe' suggests that you think Newcastle fans believe that they are a top 4 club, which we don't. Granted, it would be amazing if we finished there and if we did then we would have earned it. But mostly we're setting our sights on top 7 for a realistic good achievement this season, some are even content with simply top half.

Should be an interesting battle for 4th - 7th places this season.

We'll see. Obviously, you're playing with confidence at the moment, and have got your tails up. It remains to be seen how the team will react if they take a tonking in those 3 games.

Does it really matter what pundits say?

In a way I would prefer to be seen as the underdogs, takes the pressure off slightly.

Everyone knows Newcastle have had a great start, if you look at the table it's obvious. Hardly rocket science is it?

I don't understand all the fuss about what pundits say, they're only another person so does it matter one bit?
