This was no sitter either - we'd already missed a few far easier chances: to take this, spin, and thread it through the defender and past the goalie was top, top finishing.
One of them also said Connor Coady was the only Scouser on the pitch. Imagine TAA won't be too impressed with that
Yeah, he definitely intended to knock the ball 2-3 yards away from himself and the goal before shooting
considering the ball was behind him all he could do was try and stop it and swivel which is what he did .
Jota's problem against Wolves was that he still have a soft spot for them. He was not willing to be blamed for their defeat, Jugen Klopp should not have started him. please log in to view this image
Defo. Salah's touch was heavy but he has the speed to turn it into something - Origi's touch took it a little further from him than he would have liked perhaps, but to say it was ****e is just wrong. It was a well-taken goal, no need to over-analyse it imo.
Thought Salahs touch for the goal was brilliant. Knocked it out of his feet into the space to use his acceleration to get past the defender. Was plenty of free space behind. If he kills that dead it gives defender chance to get alongside and potentially make a tackle.
Been trying to find this since the game. Love those matip spaz outs, bloody great fun to watch, that was at the linesman but usually his targets are opposition players falling over too easy
It was such a picture perfect goal in terms of technique and simplicity. The long diagonal from VVD - he could have taken the easy option and rolled it to Matip but decided to take the risk. Mo's first touch was sublime and it creates the chance. Again, risky to take that touch and not just kill it dead. Div's movement to get into the box, one touch to get the ball and create the opportunity and then it's a great finish.
So glad we beat Wolves, the sh*thouses. Constant time wasting, feigning injuries - especially Coady. Our players are just too nice.
I spoke to a Wolves fan after the match. "Where did they get 5 minutes of injury time from?" was his question, to which I spat beer back into my glass
