If they want people to buy online they should make it easy
    It isn’t

If my memory doesn't fail me, I believe you have mentioned how fine the Polish Lady's derriere is in a previous post.

Agreed, everything should be made as clear as possible and we’re fairly rubbish at doing that.

For various family related reasons and being 250 miles away I haven't been to a home game since pre-pandemic. Is it true that match cards have been done away with? I used to buy a ticket and it would go on the card which would get me in the ground. Is there some other system now?

I remember the days when you could actually speak to a person at the end of a telephone line.
They would ask you what you wanted.
You told them and they sorted it with no confusion.
    Ah the good old days.

    Cos Liverpool are playing that
    Day
It’s not that special a semi final
    Short of funds
    Tickets are expensive

I've never had any issues buying anything from the Club website and I truly have limited internet skills.

If I ever do encounter any issues in future,I'll get the 4 year old grandson to sort it...:emoticon-0148-yes:

I think match cards are still available. I guess if you have one you can but a ticket and load it on.

Thanks for the comments / guidance from others.

JHE, sounds like you are in a similar situation to me - old match card still in hand! If I'm understanding right, the match card itself is no longer used, BUT the customer number on the card / your online account is still active. Instead of loading tickets onto the old match card, once you are logged onto the ticketing website (with your old match card customer number / email address) it gives you the option of print at home or downloading a mobile QR code (I don't know how that works if your buying more than 1 ticket? It's not self evident to me from the system without me actually completing a transaction, and there's nothing in the FAQ's about it).

OLM -> "If people don’t want the hassle of registering an account, just go to the ticket office, buy tickets, go into the ground and watch the game. It’s really not that difficult.".
Hmmn. If I'm understanding right, this option is only available on match day, which then means either getting to the ground really early ahead of any q's or else risking getting stuck in long q's nearer kick off time. Bad enough on a Saturday, but not a solution for many on a night game. Why can't people, especially casuals or one-offs simply buy a ticket several days in advance, without having to register for an account, either on-line, by post and/or by earlier pick up - I suspect the answer is that staffing has been pared to the bone on non-match days (self defeating?) and the club really want everyone on-line.

Of course, it's understandable that the club want to have you registered (for various reasons) but surely they should be doing all they can to make it as simple, straightforward, easy, and clear as possible. Even more so when the ground has been less than half full for a few seasons. It's not like they were rushed off their feet during the lockdowns either, meaning there's been plenty of time to get these things right. I also noticed things like 'click here' but with no active link behind the text. But no-one tells them how to run their business. I'm fairly intelligent, fairly computer literate, and patient, so if it's unclear to me and testing my patience then there's a problem. Hopefully under new ownership these things improve.

Excuse my ignorance but what is the reason for having a match card.

Load of ****. I have spoken to the ticket office recently. Both times they were very helpful and the problems were sorted with no fuss.

You shouldn't need to physically go though, you should be able to do it online. It's 2021. People not living in Hull should also be able to have an option to buy. End of the day everything should be done to make it as easy as possible for people to attend.

EDIT: I see this has since been adressed.

Just as an additional piece of information on 'pay on the day' tickets...It's an additional £3.(Obviously Acun will address this issue along with everything else).

To me,it's just as easy going onto the website, log into the ticket section, click where you want to sit,buy ticket and select delivery option.if you want to save postage, collect on the day from the 'ticket office'.I've never had to wait for more than a couple of minutes at most.

As for away tickets, same as post below and yes, normally next day.

The people in the ticket office do a great job and they are not to blame for the mistakes of the owners. I often get away tickets the next working day. The phones are answered by a very small group of employee's who bend over backwards to help and your post does not reflect the reality.

To be fair, it was aimed more at life in general nowadays.
Most businesses want you going online but don't always make it crystal clear how to do things. Then you spend time trying to find a phone number to call them but usually they want a virtual chat and then you are hoping they understand your problems.
It wasn't directly aimed at Hull City staff.
    Apologies if it upset you.

Might just be me but I loathe doing important stuff over the phone. Email addresses, numbers etc. can be easily misunderstood with different accents which causes more hassle than it’s worth just to hear someone’s voice on the other end. Unless you’re visually-impaired, reading something over email just seems much more efficient. Less room for error and you don’t have to repeat what you’re trying to say using the phonetic alphabet with a customer service agent who can’t understand you and vice-versa.

Might be a generational thing but email > phone for anything involving lots of digits and crucial info imo, and I use both at work.
