Do you think he will get penalised for hitting the alfa?

Good strat from Merc I think to fuel him longer and keep him out for the second run. A better way to keep heat in the tyres? Certainly it put all the pressure on Max. Lewis nailed that lap.

I was glued to it. It was absolutely no margin scrape the wall stuff I haven't seen in a while and he absolutely planked it.

He has absolutely blown it and can only hope bottas gets a pen for hitting Raikkonen

Trouble is, they've cried (Toto) wolf too many times. Might come back to bite them.

So Lewis gets a penalty, Bottas gets a penalty for pinging Kimi, Max has a gearbox change.

Charles on pole. I'd love it! <laugh>

nothing to protest, never seen anyone penalised for impeding in practice, and the yellow flag signal was a mistake, it was on for less than a second and no flags were waved.

While I agree it was put out in error it was however a waved yellow board and Lewis should have lifted to comply with the notification as he didn't know it was not a real yellow. Max's incident in ignoring yellow flags was different in that he could see Gasly on the straight but he didn't lift at all.
I know it would have been harsh on Lewis but rules are rules and even the stewards said that the steering wheel indicators were not shown to Lewis and Max didn't get those either!!
Ultimately if we want consistency then Lewis should have a penalty a waved yellow board is a waved yellow board! Not that I want him too but rules are rules and they should be followed 100%.

Didn't the stewards note that he didn't see any yellow board after reviewing the footage? I'd understand Lewis getting a pen if he drove past double yellows (or a yellow), waved mistakenly or not, but not if he didn't pass on markings in the one second they were up.

What a day! I was so tense for those two final runs. I think Max was on for one of the all time greatest laps, but I suppose he took too much life out of those tyres earlier in the lap.

Merc looked better on long runs which is hopeful for the race. I am now slightly worried this is going to be decided by a safety car, which would be a rubbish way to decide such a brilliant season. I can see a fair few of those coming on this track, which I really don't like.

PS - Presume no Cosi news?

you see that’s how I read it , but was not sure . Look back at my posts , I’m a bit confused to be honest . If he passed AFTER the mistake was made , then what’s the problem . If the mistake happened as he was right by it , no way can he have seen it , is that what happened
