Harrogate stun 2008 winners Portsmouth as Jack Diamond's 95-minute goal sends the League Two side through
Feels like a loss today with the scum winning. We need two big performances this week even with our depleted squad.
Agreed mate, we’ve had almost 4 years of these pathetic ****ty draws against dross like Oxford at home. It’s nowhere near good enough and I’ve had my fill of it now.
But the big question is, is LJ learning from his mistakes? We need a strong Jan but that 2 points might be 5 if Wigan win their game in hand. This is a Wigan team who were horrendous last year, signed some of our players and are now joint top with that game in hand. I didn't really want Johnson at the time and he hasn't endeared myself to him and the post I put on the LJ Out thread has proven his 'streaky' tag as he has currently gone through 3 losing streaks and 2 winning. What this current one is, is a bit of in between.
Dont think it is the worst point in the world if I honest. Second half thought we played some decent stuff. As I have said before I do think we are short of goals and need to sort that in Jan. With our injuries we have so few options off the bench. It is a tough period because of that but we are staying in touch which for me is good enough. Get Cirkin and Huggins back, Hume as well and we will have options again. Today would have been tailor made for McGeady from the bench too.
Caller on Radio Newcastle saying LJ stuck his fingers up to him at the end of the match when he asked Johnson to do the right thing and leave. Apparently been mentioned by a few people on social media as well, so says RN. Whether the caller was a bit more crass than what he's said I don't know but regardless, not a good thing for LJ to do. They're gonna try and get Barnes to ask him in his interview...
How much time do you think he should be given? Johnson just seems to be constantly making the same mistakes over and over again. I also have absolutely no confidence that he will sign the right players in January. Just look at the league, somehow we are two points from top yet we have been absolutely awful for weeks now. I honestly believe a decent manager with this squad, even with the injuries, should be top now.
Just listening to that on the way home now, the caller isnt happy about it at all. He went down to the dugout to speak to LJ but didnt make out what he said back to him.
It's hard to say at the moment, we have Hume, Huggins, Cirkin, O'Nien, McGeady, etc, out with injury. We're two points off top and played some good stuff today I thought. No I'm not pleased with anything but top place or happy to accept mediocrity ... ... but I'm willing to give the team a little leeway after four games unbeaten and two home games upcoming.
Ross Stewart is a bit of a concern for me. Maybe I am being harsh. It is a while now since he scored and he still has mo assists to his name. I think we need a centre forward more than anything in Jan. The good play up to the final third needs a focal point around the penalry spot.
Been out all day so just catching up now. Oxford are now 7 games unbeaten so they were never going to be a push over. We hit the woodwork twice so can count ourselves a tad unlucky, were struggling for numbers and have just got to get our heads down and grind out as many points as we can until player numbers improve. Fans have got to keep calm and carry on getting behind the team. HTL.
Agree mate but unfortunately in his line of work he's going to get abuse and praise and he needs to be professional enough to accept that and ignore it. To me, it's the sign of a man under pressure...
2 points off top and a 5.000 away supported quarter final coming up ... ... but the right thing is to walk away. F**k off.
We all get a bit uptight at such times as these, we could have been top of the pile tonight but threw it away again, playing in a manner that we have seen too often under this coach, imo. I dont mind him showing a bit of passion tbh but his game management is poor and could see us starting next season in a division we all want to see the back of..
