Don't see how stewards can not give him a penalty! It's irrelevant why the flag is waved, good job he has rocket pu.
They say yellow and verstappen got 5 places for double waved yellows so this is where consistency comes into play. Big big decisions coming
Must admit that the official statement says it was accidentally 'waved' for 1 second and no steering wheel indications! So, for once Horner can whinge as no displays on max steering wheel last time and he still had penalty!! Some you win some you lose!
There was 2 sets of footage shown on sky and a few posts back from twitter. It did show Lewis in the sector when accidentally a yellow was shown on electronic board for just 1 second, but it was shown!!
if I read the statement correctly from the FIA ( it’s on the bbc ) , they are saying Lewis was already well within the marshalling post when the yellow was accidentally waved . Does that not mean he had passed before it was waved ?
The footage appears to show the flag in front of Lewis for a very short time but was out by the time he reached it. I can't remember if the rule is not backing off in a waved yellow sector but also does the sector start where flag is or is that the mid point of a sector? I think he is so lucky not to get a penalty as doesn't matter why flag was out or duration.
Fair enough . If the flag was waved before Lewis got there , then much as it pains me to say RBR have every right to be pissed off . I don’t know the rules like some on here do though .
Red bull should lodge a protest here as its turn about is fair play time. Bottas is out I presume. That will put him completely out of the battle in the race. Sincerely doubt a mission firing car can be turned round in this time but let's see.
