Are Chelsea out of the title race yet? They seem to have this Germany-like reputation ie "you can never write them off". But at what point can we actually forget about them? They've been pretty appalling recently, but the 2 games versus us mean that they could actually gain 6 points on us in 2 fell swoops.
Not sure what happened there. At first, there was nothing, now there are 2 identical threads! Does anybody know how to delete one?
agreed, there out of it now. even if they pick 6 up on us, they still have to catch others. and lets be honest, theres no way they are not dropping any more points. i do believe they'l still come 3rd though.
Yeah I think so. I really think it's a 2 horse race now. City still have to go to Chelsea and Liverpool and still have to face Tottenham at home too. With their record against the top sides this season, they will drop points in some if not all of those games.
I thought the 'rule of thumb' was that you can only afford to lose 6 games and still be champions, in which case, we can discount Chelsea now.
I would really like to say we are still in it...but it would be wrong We can still upset the apple cart by beating you twice & City...but it's asking a bit on current form I'm worried about playing Copenhagen...can't see us scoring If Carlo played 4 4 2 & dropped a couple of non achievers (Essien is our worst culprit amazingly) we might get somewhere
He was truly awful last night A lot of us would like to see young Josh McCreachan get a run Mind you - a lot of us would have liked Sturridge to get a start too - look what's happening there...
I don't know why you even signed Sturridge. He's obviously got a lot of talent, but he's hardly been given a chance
I can't see Chelsea, City or Spurs winning it now. Arsenal and us have the top form out of anyone else in the PL over the last eight games. We got 19 points, Arsenal got 18, Chelsea got 14, City got 14 and Spurs got 17. So even if we slip up enough to be caught by one of those three, Arsenal probably won't. And vice versa if Arsenal slip up.
Its a 2 horse race plain and simple. What is also quite simple is if we beat Arsenal its our title, we may even be able to win it there depending on results up til then. We played one of our toughest remaining games against city and although we wernt brilliant ( except for the obvious ) we got the win. Our away form is key. I think the defeat at wolves will be a good thing. SAF will of used it to the teams advantage as he always does. Its removed the pressure of the unbeaten tag and I think the team will have a slightly different mindset in games away from home for the rest of the season. A case of win at all costs rather than avoid defeat.
