He was good whilst partnered with Woodgate. What don't you understand about that? If anything, it's you who doesn't understand.
You mean in all those "20 games". Of which one or both would have been sent off at least once, One or both would have been injured at least once and one or both would have been hooked off at least once.
Bramble was ****ing atrocious. Bar the odd "thundering challenge" and the occasional Shelvey pass, he was woeful. But SBR was convinced there was someone there. Now we have Eddie, who for the life of him seems unable to work out that 3 in CM is a good idea (he persevered with 2 at Bournemouth despite glaring issues there an'all) despite this being shown by every team at the top of the table. And now he's falling into the Newcastle manager trap of seeing traits in our CB's that don't exist.
I didn't say he was amazing non stop in his career. I said he was awesome when issued with an intelligent partner. That was Woodgate. Not my fault all our other centre backs were not very bright.
They played 20 games together a total of 1,626 minutes. In those 20 games we drew 4 and lost 4 winning 12. Bramble was so good in that defence that he wasn't even the favoured cb pairing with Woodgate as that went to O'brien but possibly that my selective memory.
Another example being Steve Bruce. He was good when partnered with an intelligent partner. That was Gary Pallister.
Right todays the day we finally get our **** together. Have some Cheryl to brighten your day up. Start the day right.
