Not your fault, because you're only repeating something, but how does this word come to be used in this context?
"Stonewall" means to obstruct or delay some process or other - it's not a synonym for "definite".
Though, give it time I suppose - misuse a word often enough it becomes acceptable.

    A definite pen - I agree.

to stop a discussion from developing by refusing to answer questions or by talking in such a way that you prevent others people from giving their opinions:

I guess from that definition it’s stonewall because there are no discussion about it

Reasonable argument, but I don't really agree that this explains its evolution. However I don't want to get into it any further because I'll just be accused of being picky and pedantic.
Which I am, of course. :)

Is it any worse than "decimate" meaning totally destroy now? Or how about people "dropping" tunes? Or kids these days "shipping" characters on TV shows?

Stonewall actually doesn't bother me, but those three examples always make me cringe.

The race for 4th place is looking very interesting. My money is on Spurs. Conte is already having an effect.

Hopefully we won’t get sucked into that pack when we lose key players. Can’t see us winning the league due to ACON.

The interesting thing is how west ham are the only on super league scum team competing up there.

Wolves have not played anyone top 6 since 3rd game of season they are 8ths now, everton are bottom half, villa had to sack manager etc etc

Brighton are the rest of the rest!

It seems to me after all the talk the same old scummy froth has floated to the top of the rancid pond that is the prem.

There is probably one spot left for the CL, I don't see any of the top three being caught.
Its going to be a mad scramble amongst a few clubs for that 4th spot.

Hmm. Weren't we top of the league at Christmas last season? I'm sure we'll have a good December - we always do. But I'm sure we'll have a **** January - we always do. And we'll probably panic - loan a player or two at the end of the window when Mane and Mo are back anyway, but I wouldn't count chickens on Top Four yet. :emoticon-0114-dull:

Totally different scenario from last season, I think this time around we have that 3 club mini league at the top who are clearly ahead of everybody else.

Top at Christmas last year was after only 14 games played. Same as we've already played this season

agree the prem is split into 3 or 4 groups.

    top 3
Glut of similar clubs in the middle that you might split into two if pushed. These have the money to buy and the squad to go on a run but there limited ambition at some. (is it unlinked to lump birghton ,utd, west ham, arsenal, wolves together with the Southampton's and Everton's of this world)
Relegation fodder (just 3 or 4 clubs., norwich, newcastle, watford, Burnley)

and we have the exact same points as last year at match 14 on 31.

we lost 5 in a row then 2 more in a row to be stuck on 43 points after 29 games last seaosn

if we continued our points trend this season we would hit 84 points. We have had a poor block of 4 with the draw to brighton and loss to west ham. my view is wee need 100% points from the next 6 games to recover to be on track for 90+ points.

thats my hope anyway. Wolves, Villa, Newcastle, spurs, leeds, Leicester. All winnable, mostly banana skins. for me the theory that we concede too many to decent outfits will be tested here.
