My Hong Kong jockey Antoine Hamelin has had a quiet time recently with only 1 winner this month but I like his chance in the 11.45 on

    Treasure of Field

Each Way @ 11-2 [William Hill] 4 places

    Haydock 12.40 Mauritian Bolt

Ruth Jefferson has eyecatching each way stats at Haydock over the last 5 seasons

    Overall

    R 8 W 3 P 4 PL 16.50

    Hurdles

    R 7 W 2 P 3 PL 8.50

This lightly raced horse gave the strong impression that a step up in trip like today will suit. Stable's only runner last 14 days was 3rd of 6 in a bumper. Promising conditional booked for this bottom weight.

That novice chase at Exeter (2.05) on Friday looks sensational. Adrimel for Tom 'Fast Pacey' Lacey against Harry Fry's Boothill. 2 high class prospects and should be quite a contest.

Might be the most memorable race at the track since old boy Basil Fawlty backed Dragonfly at 14/1 :)

500 blue medici is back at c/d after two poor runs at wolvs , Elisha booked with a 5lb claim this race could go anywhere but Elisha was patient lto at c/d on blue placing 2nd . They are 1lb lighter than that day , althogg i dont expect the win a place looks promising and with 365 offering 20s it looks more than fair .

It didn't take Haydock long to get back to heavy going <laugh>

Champ won't be running at Aintree (in the 'Many Clouds') on Saturday. The Lieutenant took a few moments out of his busy schedule to address the nation. He proclaimed, 'He’s going to pass this one. He’ll school again tomorrow. He’s difficult to place.'

It would appear that the Long Walk Hurdle could be a possibility for Champ. Do well in that and the old boy may never jump a fence again.

:emoticon-0104-surpr Was any one person in 'the nation' listening? Very doubtful. :emoticon-0105-wink:

(However, latest information on the horse is certainly useful to racegoers. The 'Long Walk' hurdle at Ascot takes a bit of winning. Had the winner once many years back (brilliant :emoticon-0120-doh:), can't remember name but it was ridden by Richard Pitman. :bandit:)

I still maintain that if they had kept Champ to hurdles then he could have won the last 2 Stayers Hurdles. That is even more believable when you take into account that neither running was exactly glittering. He could be coming into season 2021/22 on a hat-trick re that race.

But whether Champ would or wouldn't, I guess, the Long Walk will give him the chance to prove his worth over timber.

Guess Pitman's mount must have been trainer Fred Winter's Soloning in 1973. Blimey, what a long time ago!
