    This came as a bit of a shock as I haven't read it anywhere. Heartbreaking news.
    A one club icon. Even his book is titled "My Cardiff City"
    A sad loss and far too early.

    Not the most skillful but one of the most whole hearted.
    Where I first heard 'the ball might go past, the man might go past, but the two don't go past together'.

    Absolute stalwart for City and was devastated when he was effectively forced out of the club (was it Cambridge he went to for a short spell??).

    Haven't seen any details on cause of passing but he can't have been very old?

    Being as youthful as I am I didn't see too many of his games for City but absolutely bled blue for the club.

    Sad loss of a true club legend.

    RIP.

    I remember some disquiet at the clubs decision to not offer a final contract to him forcing him to a northern outpost to earn a living (before retirement and joining the police and then working for local criminal law firms).

    I loved watching Joe play. No nonsense & hard as nails. He was my favourite city player as I was growing up. RIP Joe
