I saw some chat thing on TV a little while back, maybe it was after a game, and it was a discussion around who was the best player Messi or Ronaldo, and the conclusion was, Messi was a natural player but Ronaldo had to work at it.
Yeah I'd go with that. Messi has always been magic with the ball at his feet. Ronaldo was very green when he first moved to Man Utd. I do think Ronaldo has been the better player for the last 5 or 6 years but before that it was Messi every time.
It's a bit eurovisiony now, tbh. A PSG player winning the Paris awards, who would have thought it. Lewandowski should have dominated that these last few years.
They showed a picture of Ronaldo, I think it might have been when he first ever went to United, he was skinny rake. When i use to hear the name Ronaldo back then, I thought they were talking about the Brazilian player.
Popularity contest mate. Don't think there's any normal fan in world football who thinks Messi has been the best player in 2021. Also, Ronaldo above Salah? ****ing lol.
Unfortunately Ronaldo and Messi get nominated on name only these days and have for 3 or 4 years in truth. EDIT......i think a lot of it is due to what these two do in European games and not over a full domestic season
Lives in my dreams like Freddie Kruger mate ... his masterplan at ours was to dismantle anything and everything that Martin O'Neil had put in place ... ****ing disaster ...
I'll never forget the day that bellend came back to our club, I nearly gave up ever watching them again. The season before we had won the L2 championship, so it was our first season back in L1, Mad Dog was still our manager after our first trophy (outside of play-offs) in my lifetime, but we had got off to a bad start the following season. Me and a mate, had just arrived at Shrewsbury early in the new season, when he said to me Scally's here, which seemed a bit strange - reason being at that time, the chairman I asssumed was restricted on how many visits he could make to the UK, due to his interests in Dubai, so why would he go to the Shrews, a nothing game, unless he came to eye up their new ground. Anyway we lost the game and the truth was soon to unfold, he sacked Martin Allen and installed his mate Taylor, I was fooking furious. Anyway didn't take long for everything to turn hostile, you could guarantee twitter would end up in a melt-down.
Isn't it voted for by national team coaches and captains.... Surely Messi winning Copa and being the goat secures it. Should have been Jorghiniooho, but Messi pips him.
