It needn't take very long at all, and, without wishing to sound facetious any caretaker would struggle to do any worse than our current run of results. I'm all for giving managers time, but that presupposes they're learning and improving. So far I've not seen the evidence of that - the same tactics every match, no change during the match when those tactics aren't working, substitutions simply like for like rather than trying to give us a new option. I like Sean, but I'm fast getting the feeling he's not cut out for this job and we need a more experienced head if we can possibly get one that's used to getting the best out of mediocre players and grinding out results. Our squad should be better than bottom three, and whilst I fully expected a fight down near the bottom of the table this season, I've not seen much fight - rather more shambolic defending or simply succumbing meekly to teams regarded as "better" than us - irrespective of their actual quality or current position.

That probably depends on whether the board are planning a change. If they are thinking Posh will be his last game I am sure they will be talking to candidates already unless of course they are already employed elsewhere. I can't imagine we will have a caretaker as Woan will surely be off too.

There were comments on the match thread that the midfield were looking very tired yet he didn't bring Prince on, was this a mistake?

Could one of you who wants SD's head please explain to me how you think the finances will work out if we sack him?

You have to have a ready made replacement to install ! I dont fancy Woan as caretaker , another dodgy appointment! What Sean needed was a mentor ,not his mate!

That depends entirely on his contract Leo, but as an untested novice I would hope whoever drew the contract up will have protected the club if things didn't work out.

Would that be the finances that are slipping through our fingers every game that goes by where we pick up nil points, our attendances fall...and we slide into Div 1 ????

However after today I reckon Sean may be able to turn it round , what we need is a decent mentor for him akin to Burky in the early Aidy days!

If that cant be achieved the next best option is a manager change! an experienced one , with good contacts , in time for the window!
Harsh I know , but if we cant get Sean decent help then we need re organising at the top!
This really is basic business , if someone cant do a job then change them , if they show signs ,then get someone in to help and teach!

Fair play to you lads today. Never got to the game as I am in France. Sounded a like a great game on the radio. I am sure you can build on what sounded a great performance from you guys. Good luck for rest of the season.

But still no points and I trust you did see the qualifications !
Dont get me wrong BB I still think the easiest fix is to bring in someone like O Driscoll!
Failing an appointment like that than Sean needs help! I see no point in changing an inexperienced manager for another! I do see a point in changing an inexperienced gaffer for an experienced one ,failing that bring in experienced help!

I to think that we have to bring in an experienced head at some level, and I also suspect, like others here, that they may have someone in mind already. I don't know how others would feel about this but I would love to see Ray Lewington back at the club in some capacity. He took us over 3 of the most difficult financial years of our club's history - including the players taking a wage cut (Can you imagine any of our present team doing that ?). took us to 2 Semi Finals in 3 years, and in the league cup wins over Pompey and Soton we played some of the best football I have seen from a Watford team. Could he be prised away from Fulham ? And has he forgiven the club for the way he was treated at the end ? How would others feel about this ?

It may have sounded like a great game on the radio....But I can assure you it wasn't. Two poor sides on the day, with City just about shading it on possession and chances created. City played what football there was whilst Watford were prepared to knock it long to the big fella up top....It nearly worked. Have to say that Yeates looked the business today, but other than him I can't see how Watford will get out of the bottom three. Hope I am wrong on that account..

As I wrote in the match thread, although there were some positives, I did not like watching the time wasting and it was that that cost us the game.

A small step in the right direction but how much time do you wish to give dyche? It's all well and good playing well but if we don't turn performances into results soon then we will fall behind. I like Dyche but i think if we lose our next game he should go without doubt.

I'm gutted to say that I didn't follow any part of yesterday's game. As a result I'm on the back foot, as I have to formulate a picture of what happened based solely on what I've read and the Football League show's generous highlights package, which this week actually featured two passages of play that didn't result in a goal.

One or two of our eloquent and civil posters above have pointed out that this is the fourth defeat, and sure, that's not acceptable in the long run. But off the back of three games that we never competed in, by most accounts we were better than Hull (whether we were good or Hull were worse than us is another matter), and lost due to the leaky defence which has plagued us for many a year.

To put it another way, I don't see how yesterday changes the situation. If Dyche is already a dead man walking, he will be replaced in the international break, and would have been even if we won comfortably. If he still has time to prove himself, that time is fast running out, and will probably come to an end in the international break. I'm personally of the "give a manager a full season" school of thought, but the reality of football is that he will either be sacked or given a public vote of confidence in the coming weeks.
