I have it on a Mexican channeL. Big money boys v. big money boys. Wonder how much is on that pitch.Mostly City so far.
All I have heard since I got a working stream after 30minutes is the wonders of City. meanwhile PSG put the ball in the net ........beautiful.
Now all we need is for us to beat them in the return PL game, and for them to lose to Roma somehow, and they'll have lost to every Spurs manager since 2014 in a single season
The good news is that Charles De Ketelaere is playing as a RW for Bruges this evening It goes a bit downhill after that, though...
Pointless as an interim management appointment IMO. He hasn’t managed for a while and what you need for him is to bring him in as a DoF and just let him run with it, make the changes he wants to make.
I think the long term plan may be for him to be DoF according to a couple of tweets. Sounds like he wants a say in long term decision making and will only accept the interim role if those agreements are met.
Rangnick was the architect of the Red Bull clubs, so it might hint at the direction Utd are going in. Gegenpressing, which I don't think they have the team for and feeder clubs.
Rangnick would potentially be a disaster for United. The club exists to make money through commercial partnerships enabled by the profile and social media presence that comes from having big, recognisable stars in the team. Ronaldo. Pogba. All these players who they sign who don’t actually make any footballing sense. Similar to Paratici, you employ Rangnick as a DoF and let him diagnose the problems in scouting, youth development, everything else, but spending money on better training facilities or scouting software doesn’t bring in the social media followers. Rangnick comes in and blows up the wants of the club management and I don’t see it ending well.
Surprised to see Brighton were booed off by their own fans after their latest draw today. Potter certainly seemed more than peeved by it in his post match comments, at one point asking rhetorically if he needed to reread the club's history. #burn They haven't won in their past 8 games but have drawn 6 of those and in each of them did their usual - dominated the game but lacked the quality to punish the opposition. I'm not entirely sure what their fans want tbh.
Everyone’s booing nowadays, it’s the in thing, lol. It’s only the big three plus West Ham at the moment that are probably happy with things.
They play good football and are decently run but I think some of their fans are at that stage where charlton were under Curbishley around 2006. Secure Premier league (since 1999) club finishing 10th to 14th, playing decent football and well run. Then the fans started complaining about them not going to the next stage and started moaning about Curbishley. He quit and they imploded the next season. 3 managers, relegation and have bounced between the Championship and league 1 and have never come close to coming back to the Premier league in the 14 or 15 years since they went down. Brighton fans should be careful about what they wish for.
They made us break out transfer record to sign Darren 'Sandra' Bent. They deserved everything that befell them, and more.
My first ever Premier League away game was at The Valley when we relegated them , first hand viewing of that filthy goal by Berba. What a day.
Benfica and Belenenses match sounded… interesting. Belenenses are riddled with covid and could only name nine players in their starting XI, two of which were goalkeepers with one of them playing CM. Game got abandoned at 7-0 on around 50 mins. Why even allow it to begin? Shambles.
Give Potter players like Kane and Son and he'll piss all over most opponents, I'm convinced of it. His teams dominate 8 out of 10 games, create endless chances, press opponents to death, they just can't kill a game. I think Lamptey broke a record yesterday in terms of clear chances created by a FB this season yet they still scored 0 goals. That's their problem.
