The biggest problem I see is that teams are pressuring our backs causing errors and the better full backs are cutting out the cross field ball we thrived on but we're still trying it. Paddy would make a huge difference to our team. It's just too easy for their defence because there's no one playing on their shoulder so they can spread wide. I'm holding judgement until Paddy comes back. I think Dallas needs to play in front of Firpo, not only did he look after Lamptey but he also drove forward. I think Firpo got Lamptey his MOM
We've wasted some f*****g Moolah.....if things don't improve rapido it's a sheff u.....there said it, and for all he's not prem quality Roberts was for once a good sub
Some complete and utter bullocks being spoken on sky about Phillips. Let's be absolutely clear, it's Marcelo who has developed Kalvin's game to such an extent he's now an England international. The notion he'll be banging on the manager's door Monday morning demanding an explanation for his substitution is just ridiculous.
Well gents I think Phillips is on his bike, and I told Doc in his private mail a few months ago, he will support me on this I’m sure!!!
We've got to get Phillips and Forshaw together in midfield. We are really weak through the middle. Struijk really strengthened us today and him and Forshaw helped stop the supply to Lamptey. Dallas got tight and we eventually saw him off. We really need men in that midfield area.
Agreed that the midfield is a massive part of our current problems, just not sure the answer is Forshaw. There's no doubt he gives his all but unfortunately he's just not dynamic enough for what we need. Neither is Klich or anyone else at the club for that matter.
There hasn't been any evidence of Bates tendencies so far and so I would hope for a couple of good players for the midfield.
I wasn’t impressed with Forshaw today, he didn’t do anything wrong but he didn’t set anything alight either. There were many worse than him but when Phillips dropped into the back three it highlighted the fact that Forshaw is just average.
He might be banging on the manager’s door to ask why, having become the best defensive midfielder in the country, he keeps playing him at CB
And why shouldn't he. We have been an embarrassment all season. Brighton did to us, what we did to Watford, just with no end result. We were desperate in the Summer for a decent midfielder and a second goalscoring striker in case Bamford got injured. The ONLY reason why Gelhardt was given an opportunity last week is because both Bamford and Rodrigo were injured. He will continue to rot on the bench. To play James by himself up front shows how tactically nieve Bielsa is. He is a World class coach but his tactics and substitutions are sub-standard.
Totally agree as he seems to play tactics in his head but the players he uses are wrong for his thinking. Nothing sways him and he is a one way street.
