Lerma off for muff, two goals in the last five for Coventry to get the draw, and a win for Cardiff at our chums up the M1. Marvellous. Our Italian cousins are on BT2 at 11:30am tomorrow.
Well how is this game being allowed to go ahead ? Seems someone got “injured” in the 2nd half . “Match abandoned. Belenenses, who tried not to come out for the second half, eventually successfully ensure match is called off due to going down to 6 players through injury”
FFS it's elite level professional football not the Cloggers Sunday League 9th Division. Oh, it's Benfica....
Richard Masters, new Chief Executive of Premier League re introduction of new regulator: "We have to be careful not to damage the Premier League and English football. We agree with the thrust, but there are some pretty radical proposals there that need to be thought about." This, as IFAB discuss a 25 minute half-time to allow for mid-match “Superbowl-style shows”. As if football needs outside regulation.
I wonder if IFAB have ever considered introducing a “third half”, where each team’s outfield players would be five sets of ‘three-legged’ players? Just for the ‘entertainment factor’. After all, football is a “show”, isn’t it?
Match abandoned - but BBC seem to think otherwise. Even though their match report states match abandoned, according to their league table, Benfica were awarded the points. Which conveniently sees them top, two points ahead of both Porto and Sporting. I smell a rat...
Sure fans really would love to be standing around for 25 minutes at half time when it's about 3c and freezing! Anyway should the ref have been booked for him wild push which sent this player flying!?
15 mins in... Udinese 0-0 Genoa. Genoa turn up in all white forcing Udinese to change as well into all black! Maxi subbed at 12mins for Pussetto. Shoulder injury following a robust challenge. Looks like a sublaxation of the collar bone judging by the way he fell - I have first hand experience of that, very painful.
Not a great advert for Serie A. +6... Sadist. Udinese put the ball in the net 90+2 but clearly offside.
Quite possibly the strangest managerial appointment I've ever come across. A Pakistani/Englishman with a CV that includes coaching at Wigan under Roberto Martinez, being part of Belgium's backroom staff at Euro 2020 and assistant coach for the *****lian national tream has been appointed manager of possibly the worst team in the UK - Fort William. Not a job for the faint-hearted. https://www.pressandjournal.co.uk/f...lliam-appoint-shadab-iftikhar-as-new-manager/
Basically be better having 3 or 4 team groups going by these standings . The bottom teams in each group are cannon fodder. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/womens-world-cup-qualifying-european/table
It appears that football in empty stadiums is on its way back in Germany. Many Germans were infuriated that at a time when hospitals are filled to capacity and Christmas markets are being cancelled that FC Cologne played the local derby against Mönchengladbach in a full stadium with very few masks in sight. Borussia Dortmund have stopped the sale of tickets for the big clash with Bayern this coming weekend. In the neighbouring Netherlands all games in the Eredivisie are now without fans until the 18th of December, when the situation will be reviewed again.
