I'm struggling though I'm afraid. I've sensed a negative undertone building up in me for a number of weeks now.

When we need to defend we can do it well with Sven's line-up / formation.

However, when required to really up the tempo and really try to blast a team away, aside of 2 1st half performances (Southampton / Derby) we're seriously lacking in ideas. Sven's negative tactics for the 2nd half against Southampton was shocking!

    Why?

IMHO 2 reasons and I totally agreed with the caller Ben on the phone in tonight, apart from calling for Sven to be sacked.

Width and pace. Under Sven we're 2 dimensional. Yes we will have good moments, but we're just too predictable. Alan Young said there isn't wingers in football any more. I'm watching Stuart Downing and Bellamy for Liverpool. Alan if they're not wingers, what are they? Ben was spot on. The teams who do well in the League have pace and width. We lack both playing regularly.

I fear Sven, yes Sven, has built a team that lacks spark and imagination. 6 Central Midfielders signed. Width not touched or the little we have dropped. We're is the pace in our middle 4? There just isn't.

Seriously, after the last 3 games do any of you think we look like a dangerous team and promotion material?

I'm not calling for his head yet, but I'm worried it's not going to get much better than this inconsistent fairly predictable stuff.

I don't want Sven sacked, but only because I don't want to hear that the new manager needs a year to find his best team.

We will not get promoted, anyone want to argue otherwwise?

If I was you I would be incredibly annoyed and disappointed. Millions spent, good players treated like **** and sold, and you have a clueless pervert in charge.

Sven was only appointed for his name and reputation. He was supposed to draw the big names in and the best he could muster was Yakubu <laugh> Don't get me wrong I hope he stays, he's making you lot a laughing stock.

I have no problem about the owners. They've plenty of $ and haven't borrowed the money against the club, so sorry wumming Leeds fans, that's no concern here.

Sven's start with the now predictable performances is.

He's restricting us with his insistence on our strict diamond formation.

I'm beginning to suspect the players just need a (well reputed) Joe Mercer style teams talk..

"4-4-2. Go out an play lads"

    1 formation. 5 words.

Sitting in the back of the family stand it was blatently obvious that konch and Peltier were completely on their own when bobming forward and had no support at all, massive gaps behind and in front, Millwall packed their midfield and defended the area around the edge of their box superbly, today we needed after 20 mins to change it, it obviously was not going to work as it was, we changed it at half time and brought on MOM Dyer along with Vassell, but even Vassell ended up as dopy as the others in the last 10 mins.

The option we should have had was Howard, we should have had the option to knock it long and also have someone in the box to meet Dyers crosses, mayb Bamba should have gone up fpor 15 mins?

I'm almost shocked to say this, but I turned to the blokes I sit next to and said, after 60 mins, "We could do with Howard now".

We're not only 2 dimensional, but have no plan B.

    Aaaahhhhhhhhh!

It just feels like every time we take a step forward, we go and take two steps back. But the time isn't now to panic. The time isn't now to make knee jerk decisions and reactions. The time isn't now to sack Sven.

The problem always seems to come against teams who will flood the midfield and then hit us on the break. With this diamond, if teams do this, then the problem of course is that our midfield are all playing in one congested area of the pitch. So to combat this we need to push the full-backs forward to give us width. The full-backs become our out-ball and more often than not, they will be the ones in possession. But when they have the ball, there is no option down the line so they have to play it inside. But inside of him, there is usually 7 vs 9 in the oppositions favour so it'll be a simple pass normally sideways and then that man is faced with the same problem and our attacks stagnate. It only takes one misplaced pass and the opposition can counter-attack into the spaces left by our full-backs. There's another problem in that we play our most creative player at the base of the diamond so while he is up the pitch looking for the defence splitting pass, there is little cover for the break. There are obviously benefits as well to playing Johnson at the base but when it doesn't work, it leaves us exposed.

Against the bigger teams, they will play more open football and so our superior numbers in the middle can exploit this and the full-back haves more space to get into and they don't have to get forward every time as we can create things through the middle. I think it's definitely worth considering going back to 4-3-3 because we have the players to play it and it would mean we would have genuine width which we need in games like these to stretch the opposition and give us more space to play. It worked for the majority of the time last season and I think it might be worth a try. I think I can understand what Alan Young is saying in that the days of two wingers staying wide and getting chalk on their boots are gone and now a days wingers will be expected to come inside and join in the play and at times they will stay wider to stretch the play.

One of two things will happen after this match. One, they will come out next week with a kick up the arse and motivated to prove a point or they will continue to slump. We just have to hope it is the former. But, when all is said and done, we are still only 2 points off the play-offs but with plenty of improving to do.

Well we may as well get rid then and plan for next season as we are going no where with Sven.

I want him out before he does anymore damage and whilst a new man can step in, lets face it the infrastuture is there, we just need someone who can use it and spot the obvious!

Still a long way to go this season.

Your rejects/reserves are pushing the tigers further up the league each week. 8 games unbeaten now.

Hopefully you sign Maynard or someone else high profile so you don't want Waghorn back!

    Calm down people

Why we was **** today we are still only 2 points off 3rd. If we won today everyone would be on here saying he are going to win the league people need to calm down.

On the the negatives now. Right today we looked tired and lacked energy. Johnson isnt mobile enough at times and what the hell is Andy King doing on the pitch. Both of these 2 cant play together are we end up with a slow midfield with no urgency. Had Neil Danns played instead of King today and i think we would of done better creating chances. Jermaine Beckford was **** and Vassell wasnt any better. Lloyd Dyer tried to make things happen when he came on but no one was getting in the box. David Nugent worked hard and sometimes tried to take them on single handedly. Set pieces are awful, Paul Gallagher is the only player we have who can take a decent set piece. We shouldnt put a keeper on the bench and instead put Steve Howard to offer us something different which we are going to need time to time.

One piece of critism i have for Sven is not buying a winger in the summer. We was all wanting him to sign either Wayne Routledge, Jimmy Kebe or Max Gradel but we ended up with none. You cant play with 1 winger as it doesnt work.

We haver no plan B, when a team come and put 11 players behind the ball we are clueless, no tactics and no idea!

Today we looked like a bunch of headless chickens running around, ok Beckford was poor but was not given any decent
service today, would have kept him on(he is a goalscorer) would have liked Samba put up front for last 20min f**k all to
lose when 0-3 down think he would have coursed them problems ffs we had nothing else today

Still think we will get a result at west ham they will let us play football! and it will be all forgotten till the next time we f**k up.

If this, if that, if whatever, it is such a dull response. If means nothing, it's what we do, how we play and the team set up, all of which is wrong. If we won an extra game last season, if we didn't have our Thai owners it is all irrelevant. We are not in the top 6, and we are no where near good enough to be there and won't be there whilst we have that Swedish single minded over rated over paid idiot in charge.
