Well, all I can say is that it’s a good job I’ve got a planet busting 3.0 V6 diesel and not one of those woke electric cars, as how else am I going to drive over the to magician’s house in the morning and get him to switch the leccy back on ?
anyhow mate, Cornwall is about the same size as Kent, aint it about time you expanded the population over there abit, you could easy take in another 20k refugees.
I looked the other day, there's only about 500k population in that corner, while London is knocking something like 9M
Yeah send em down bro. You’ll have to tel them there’s no leccy down here though, so bring batteries and candles
It looks nice down there in all your pics, but fooked if I could live without any transport links, that would just do my nut in.
Public transport is ****e. The railway ends about 10 miles east of me so it’s just buses and they are crap and expensive. Remember having to use one to get to work when my car was in the garage when I first came down here. I was used to London buses, cheap and plentiful. I gave matey bus driver £5 note and he told me it wasn’t enough ! The bus then took about an hour to do an 8 mile journey coz it went to every fukin village en route.
The storm hasn’t hit here yet, due around midnight, we’re pretty much nailed on for a power cut when the winds are real bad. At least if it’s through the night it might be boxed off before I get up. The worst one we had was 3 ****ing days, that was taking the piss.
Yeah miles away mate. I couldn't live without my major airports and high speed links. I just look at a map and think, how quick can i get from there to there, if i see the word 'bus' then it aint happening. Even when there's railworks, I'll go a different route if it says bus. If i've got to use a bus, I'd rather jump in my car.
yeah it’s really car dependent down here, you’re pretty much ****ed without one. I feel sorry for the youngsters having to rely on buses coz they are crap, expensive and take a ****ing age to get anywhere. That said, I’m an hour away from Newquay airport and can be at Heathrow / Gatwick within an hour of leaving Cornwall. I’ve caught a 7:45am flight before, had breakfast in borough market and been at the Emirates for a 12:30 kick off with time to spare
