    I have to agree with Gordan Strachen when he says that football shouldn't be part of the Olympics.

    The people taking part in the other events have worked for years to compete in the 2012 Olympics. This is their chance to shine and it should not be overshadowed by the media circus that will inevitably surround the football.

    Footballers have plenty of chances to shine each year, the Olympics should be for the Olympians.

    It does have a place but should be for amateur players outside the football league/pro leagues in other countries.

    Would be worthwhile then.
